I slowly began walking into the family room where everyone else were unhappily seated. The all immediately shot a glance at me, and soon ran towards me. I felt a bit to vulnerable by their sudden movements that I soon found myself in a crouch trying to protect myself from harmless... somewhat harmless people... vampires. They started looking at me with surprise plastered on every last one of their faces.

"Sam, it worked!" Selene ecstatically screamed. She ran towards me, not carrying about my defensive posture and picked me up to embrace me in what many would call the biggest bear hug ever. I stumbled back a little but eventually returned the hug. It didn't take long for Lean to join in on the hug and centuries later Samael joined us as well.

"Why did it take you so long to change?" Lean asked me as he practically dragged me to the couch to sit down. I explained to them that I was really awake but I just couldn't move and that eventually I fell asleep.

"So maybe you could've moved but you were just asleep so we thought you were either dead or still changing" Selene tried to comprehend.

         "I'm a wild sleeper so I think I would've moved"

"We you're a vampire whatever position you fall asleep in is the position you'll wake up in" Lean pointed out.

"Even when I woke up I still couldn't move until Dolce sort of tickled me by accident" I said with a small blush.

"Well maybe you just needed someone to... unparalyze you. I wanted to slap you awake but they wouldn't let me" Lean joked.

"If you ever lay a hand on her--"

"Well of course I won't now, she'll probably kick my ass" Lean cut off Samael while throwing his hands up in defense. I couldn't help but laugh at this, now that I'm a vampire I guess I can defend myself without needing any help from someone else. It actually feels good to be able to rely on your self for once.

"You guy's said that I can read the minds of humans right?"

     "Well, yeah" Selene answered.

"Then why is it that I can hear all of your thoughts?" they all got really quiet at that moment.

"... H-how can you read our thoughts when we're vampires?" she asked.

"I don't know... maybe that rule doesn't apply to me"

"It's not a rule, we just aren't able to..."

"Or maybe I'm going crazy" I suggested.

"Vampires don't go crazy, they might go mad with power but unlike humans we don't just get all... coo-coo all of a sudden" Lean said to me.

"It's not impossible though, so vampires are actually able to possess the ability to read the minds of their own kind" Samael looked at me with a small smile appearing on his face. 'Can I talk to you?' he thought. I answered him with a nod and we left the room with Lean and Selene still trying to figure out how I'm now the perfect mind reader.

Once we were out of the hearing range of the others Samael leaned in to kiss me, but I backed away. He looked at me with a frown on his face, he wanted to know what was wrong.

"You betrayed me" I cried. He tried to console me but once again I backed away.

"I didn't try to drink your blood, it's just that... I couldn't help myself" he held his head down in shame.

"I don't like what you did, there was a possibility that I wouldn't've even made it out alive"

"I know, and if anything were to have happened to you... I don't know what I would've done"

"Perhaps you would've finished your drink" i mumbled loud enough for him to hear what I said. His eyebrows furrowed.

"You think I liked what I did?" he yelled at me. "I was going crazy every second of the day that you weren't moving. Do you not understand that it hurt me more than it hurt you?"

"How could you say that?" I could feel the tiny tears running down both sides of my cheeks. He stared at me, his gaze growing softer. He moved forward to embrace me and this time I let him.

"I'm sorry, it's just that I'm hurting as well and you need to understand that". I didn't understand it, and I doubt that I ever will. His apology may have been sincere but I just couldn't bring myself to think that he felt worse for betraying me when I put all of my trust into him. It just doesn't seem possible to me.
