"So where would you like to go?" Samael asked me. We were both sitting in the family room on the black leather couch watching Family Guy on the big screen. I was curled up in a tiny ball with a sky blue plush blanket spread across me. My head was resting on his cold hard thigh which didn't really help me to warm up.
"Somewhere nice and hot" I answered, or more like mumbled because the blanket was covering my mouth a little and muffling my voice. He gave a whole-hearted laugh and agreed to my suggestion.
"How about the beach?" He suggested. I shook my head in agreement. The beach was sounding pretty nice right about now. He then picked me up bridal style, carried me to my room and flopped me down on the bed which made me giggle because I kept bouncing. He smiled at me and told me to get dressed as he left out the room. I hopped off the bed, took a quick shower and brushed my teeth and then headed towards the closet, making sure that my door was locked as I walked by. I don't want to have another peepshow altercation. I got dressed in a white babydoll beach dress with a white Bikini underneath, and a pair of white gladiator sandals.
When I left out of my room I walked across the halls and knocked on on Samaels door. When he answered I saw that he was instead dressed in all black.
"You're going to die out there" I gasped at the sight. He just laughed and waved me off.
"I don't get hot, nor do I get cold so I think I'll manage" I rolled my eyes as he intertwined his fingers with mine. Once we made it outside the humidity practically slapped me in the face. I had to hover next to him in order to keep myself from dying of a heat stroke. He smiled at me.
"I guess vampires are good for something" I said.
"We do a lot more than be a personal air conditioner" he sighed.
"Well right about now you're saving my life because the heat would've killed me if you weren't around" I suggested.
"How ironic, a vampire saving a humans life". We continued down the brick pavement, and into the garage. We drove to the beach in his black mercedes, escaping the humid world around us for a while until we finally arrived at our destination.
The beach's sand was surprisingly cool as well as the water, but the feel of the surrounding air always seemed to bring me back to reality. As I looked around me to take in my surroundings I noticed that me and Samael were the only two at the beach.
"Where is everybody?" I yelled over the loud roar of the ocean.
"Vampires don't really go to the beach" he shrugged indifferently.
"Why not?" I pressed.
"Because it's more of a human thing, we don't need the beach so therefore we don't go to it".
"The beach isn't just for humans, as cheesy as this may sound it's actually a place meant for people to relaxe and forget about all of their problems" I explained.
"You're right..."
"Thank you"
"That did sound cheesy" I huffed and walked away, still hearing his soft laughter behind me. I unbuckled my shoes and slipped them off. Walking towards the water, I continued on until it was knee high and laid back, resting back on my arms. I didn't notice he was laying next to me as well until I looked to my right and saw his beautifully structured face staring out at the water.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked him as I continued to stare at his unblinking statue like face.
"How we met" he replied.
"Ooooh, you mean the day you kidnapped me?" he gave a sly smile.
"I might've kidnapped you but I know that you're happier with me than you would be with anyone else". He was shockingly true, I might've been mad at him before but the more time we spend together the more I'm beginning to be happy that he... kidnapped me. As much as I wanted to hate him before, his gorgeous face and body, great sense of humor, and loveable personality seems to constantly pull me back into his arms everytime.
"What are you thinking about?"
Instead of telling him the truth I decided to lie "I'm thinking about what it would feel like to be a vampire". The sly smile that was on his face slowly started to fade away.
"It's not as bad as it seems, trying to keep yourself under control is one of the bigger parts of being a vampire"
"How did you learn to have self-control?"
He was quiet for a second but eventually answered "when I realized that I wanted to be a part of the human world".
"Well your world seems a bit more interesting than mine"
"You may feel that way but after being a vampire for well over 200 years I seem to find your world to be much more amusing than mine. I've witnessed your race change a lot over time. You guy's have found cures for hundreds of diseases, you create these interesting pieces of high-tech technology every year. It's as if you guy's are creating the world. Vampires don't do that because we don't change, and as long as we aren't changing then the world around us isn't changing as well"
"All of that may be true but don't forget that we're starting to destroy our own planet"
"... Well I guess you guy's aren't as smart as I thought" I laughed and gave him a small push, he then turned around with a grin and splashed water on me, and as fast as a blink of an eye we broke into a huge water fight. It was as though the world around us had completely disappeared. At that moment I couldn't see myself with anyone else but him. I wanted Samael to be mines forever, and if my changing was the only thing to truly make that happen then I want to be like him.
"Samael" i began, stopping the water fight "I want you to change me".
