YOUR POV:

I sit at my table for breakfast, which is pancakes. It's been I quiet morning, up until Minho comes barreling of the table, ungracefully putting his tray of food down and stares at me. His face is all serious, who's this Minho?

"How did you do that?" He asks. "Do what?" His face gets close to mine. "How did you make Newt smile? A genuine smile?" I back away slightly. "He just said thanks for standing up for him and I said no problem. I don't know, he just smiled. Why is it so important?"

Minho looks at me, now angry. "He jumped off the shuck wall, shank! He almost died, he's had depression and never smiles!" Minho explodes.

Wait, what? Newt jumped off a wall that encloses us in the Glade? Minho scrambles up, throws his uneaten food away and runs off to a hut. I think it's the Map Room. I stare at the table, not for long.

"Get to work." Gally says while nudging me. I stand up and glare at him with such hatred I didn't even know I had. But I shouldn't be releasing my anger Gally, no matter how much I don't like him.

I walk over to my new job. I'm being a Gardener today, I hope I'll like it. I soon met Zart, the Keeper. Who would named their kid Zart? Did they want their child to be made fun of? Apparently. He instructed me to get all the weeds out of a certain part of the garden and then water the plants. This couldn't be too hard, right?

Wrong. Let's just say weeds are incredibly strong and hard to rip out of the ground. Also, you want to detach your back and hands from your body. I don't think working in the gardens will be my job. Or at least I hope not.

I wipe my forehead with my sleeve. The sun is finally going down and a hard day worth of work is finally done. About time. I stand up and stretch when someone rings the dinner bell. Ugh, my back is killing me.

As I walk to dinner, Minho catches up with me. It seems that I'm more out of breath than he is. He also doesn't seem mad anymore about our conversation earlier. "How was your day? Do you remember your name?"

"Horrible and no." I say with my head down. "Aw," Minho says while swinging an arm around my shoulder. "Did you have a bad day?" I nod. I throw his arm off my shoulder. "And as always, you smell." He laughs and walks in front of me.

We get our food and sit down at our table. I eat my food while everyone is talking, not interested with the conversation about the Blood House. I finish quickly and throw my food out.

I'm not tired yet, but I go to my room anyway. I sit down on my bed and look up at the ceiling and release a big puff of air. Today was a long day, and I certainly wouldn't do it again. Not in a million years.

I roll over, expecting there to be more bed, but instead tumble off. I land on the floor with a loud thud and groan. A name pops up in my head.

Amelia. Amelia. Amelia.

My name, I remember my name! I scramble up and dash into Minho's room. He's sitting on his bed, looking out his window when I barge through his door. His head snaps my way, our eyes meet.

"Is everything--" I jump up and down. "I remember my name! I remember it! My name's Amelia!" I say and run to his bed, quickly sitting down with the biggest smile on my face. "Really! That's an awesome name!" Minho says with excitement. "But let me guess, Minho is an even more awesome and sassy name?" He smiles. "You bet ya." I laugh and stand up.

"That's all I came in here for." I announce and start for the door, but Minho stops me. "What was the loud crash?" "Oh, I fell off my bed." He sighs dramatically. "Of course you did." I smile and shut his door begin me and head into my own room. I lay down on my bed and look up at the ceiling.

After a couple moments I stand up and make my way out or the homestead. I have something that I need to do.

I roll around the knife Newt gave me in my hand and walk to one of the walls. I carve 'Amelia' right under a kid named Matt.

I smile to myself. I'll get a job, I'll be a part of the Glade. Everything is perfect. I go back to the homestead and fall asleep in my bed.

I woke up before everyone. I throw on some shorts and a T-shirt. I'm going to try and be a runner today, it seemed more interesting than any other job that I got offered.

As I look at the wall thinking, I hear a crash in the room across from me. Newt. Before I know what I'm doing, I'm flying over to the door in front of me. I swing it open.

Newt is sprawled across the floor, a pained expression masks his face. His crutches lay beside him.

"Newt!" I exclaim, running to him. I help him up, his cheeks red with embarrassment. "Thanks," He mumbles under his breath. He starts to swat me away lightly.

I make a face at him. "Fine. If you wanted me to leave, you should've just asked!" I say and walk out of his room.

Knowing by now that Newt won't call me back, I dash down the stairs, occasionally skipping a step. I suddenly stop when I hear my 'name' being called.

"Greenie!" I groan. What does he want now? I go back up the stairs and into Newt's room. I send glares on him as I say, "What?"

"What job are you interested in?" Newt asks, sitting on his bed. He looks tired, but I didn't care. The only thing I cared about was getting out of his room. I glance around his room as I answer.

"A runner." Two words. Who ever thought that two words could change someone's attitude?

"What?" He demands, standing up and looking me straight in the eyes, something he rarely does. "I want to be a runner. I'm trying out today. See you around."

With that said, I zoom out of the room and down the stairs. I run over to the Map Room to see that Minho is already there and packing two bags, one most likely for me.

"Hey there, Amelia." Minho says with his usual smile. I smile just as wide back, happy with his bright mood. "Hi, Minho. How are you?"

"I'm good, how about you?" I hesitate. Newt didn't see that happy with the idea of me being a runner. Why was he upset with me? He doesn't care about me, I'm just practically another guy in the Glade.

"Decent."

"Perfect! You ready to run, gurl?"

"Hell yeah."
