At principal's office

I made my way towards the hallway. Every step that I took the tension grew greater and greater in me. People were looking at me like I have done a crime.

I was at the door of Principal Everdeen's office. I knocked on the door and waited for a reply.

" Please, come in." She said.

I took a deep breathe and walked in.

" Amelia Roberts , you are here, please take a seat. "

I sat down on the chair that was in front of her table.

" How are your studies going?" She asked, looking right at my face.

" Pretty well." I said.

" You might be thinking why I called you here. Isn't it?"

" Yes, I am."

" Well Amelia, there are six new students who are going to join Griffin Prep High tomorrow and I want you to show them around. Now you might be thinking, why I chose you for this job? I chose you because your teachers believe that you are very friendly and can get along with them easily."

" Yes, sure. I will."

" That's just wonderful! They'll be here by tomorrow seven in the morning."

" Okay...I'll be there by seven."

" Thank you Amelia!"

" You're welcome."

" You may go now as you'll be late for class."

" Alright." I left.

I was so relieved after knowing it wasn't something bad, though I know I did not do anything bad. Still, it's in human nature that when you've been called by your parents or your principle, you start recollecting all bad or wrong stuffs you've done. The worst of all is the sentence, "we need to talk" this gets the shit out of me.

Let me make it clear, I haven't done anything bad till now.

I realized I have reached my Math class. I walked in.

" Why are you late Amelia?" Miss Olivia, my Maths teacher asked.

" Oh!...I was in Principal Everdeen's office." I said.

" I see...please take a seat."

My eyes were searching for an empty seat which I found next to Kyle. Kyle was just a random classmate of mine to whom I barely talk. I sat next to him and smiled at him.

As the teacher turned around to explain sums in the board. I got hit by a piece of crumbled paper. I looked around and saw Jenna waving her hand, pointing out the paper to read. I had. A confused expression. I took the paper and read.

What happened in there?

I flipped the paper and wrote.

Nothing bad happened. I'll tell you after class.

I crumbled the paper and threw back to her.

After finishing off few more sums the bell rang.

I was heading towards my locker, when Jenna stopped me. Ellie, Layla, Adair, Crystal and Liz came running and surrounded me as if I'm the hen and they are the fox. I wide my eyes in shock.

" What happened?" I asked.

" Aren't we supposed to ask you that?" Crystal pointed out.

" Oh god! You guys are acting as if I'm a criminal and I just escaped the prison."

" It's nothing sugar cube, we are just worried for you." Ellie said hugging me.

" Aww...it's so sweet of you all. I'm so blessed having friends like you. Well, nothing bad happened, it's just that there are these six new girls joining our school tomorrow and as Principal Everdeen believes that I can get along with them easily, she wanted me to show them around." I said grinning.

" That's it? She just called you for that?" Liz asked.

" And here we were all worried about nothing." Adair said.

" Forget it...it's all over, we're getting late, let's leave." Layla said.

Everyone left except me and Crystal. I had to wait far Audrey as she was in her viola classes. Crystal usually goes late as she has extra classes every Wednesday for Spanish. So, Wednesdays we are always together.

" So, What do we do now? I still have an hour for my class." Crystal said letting out a sigh.

" I thought of going to the library, but to be honest I'm really not in a mood to read books." I said resting my head on the wall.

" Hey, I guess basketball practice is starting from today right?"

" Yup, there it is on the wall." I said pointing out the poster on the wall.

" Yess! Come let's go there." Crystal squealed.

We ran towards the basketball court. There was nobody there, except the players and us. We sat down and watched the team practicing. I must say they were the best players I've ever seen. They were tall, masculine, smart and really hot. They were the popular kids at our school.

I looked at Crystal, who was staring at one of the players.

" Crystal!" I called out.

She didn't here me. She was so lost in him.

" Crystal...hello!" I called out again, waving my hand in front of her face.

She flew out off her thoughts and blinked her eyes twice.

" Yes?" She asked.

" Where were you lost? I've been calling you for a long time."

" Oh! Me? I'm right here."

" I don't think so."

Just then the coach blew the whistle and the players stopped playing. They were heading towards the restrooms and one of them just waved towards us. We waved him back and my phone rang. It was Audrey's call.

I had to leave.

I said a quick bye to Crystal and left.
