The New Girls

Beep... Beep... Beep... I heard my alarm, I turned over to see my alarm clock blinking six. I classed my eyes thinking I'll wake up after five minutes.

Thirty minutes later.

"Hello, Em... Where are you?" Audrey asked me on the phone.

"Umm... Hey! I just got up." I said faking a laugh.

"What? Are you insane? You only have thirty minutes... Go get ready and for your information mom and dad are out of town, they left in the morning for another business trips of theirs."

"Okay...I'll call you back, bye." I said and ran towards the bathroom.

How can I be so irresponsible? I mean, just a day before I was so confident that I won't let Principal Everdeen down. What I'm I going to do now? I'm late. I have to show those girls around. I have no transport too. Why does it has to be this way?

I came out of the bathroom and saw a sticky note on my mirror.

Hey Em...I'm taking Alice to the dentist so I won't be able to drop you school. I called the school bus and they'll come by 6:30 so be ready.

Wow! This is the second worst thing happening to me. I missed my bus.

Actually I cannot blame Audrey for any of these things because she had arranged everything for me before leaving and here I am all screwed up.

I dressed up and ran downstairs. I exactly had fifteen minutes. My school was thirty minutes away from my house. Now, I have only one option left.

Run!

I grabbed my bag and shoved my mobile into my pocket and left. I have no idea how am I going to run all the way to school.

I ran for ten minutes and I was exhausted. I stopped for a while to catch my breathe.

Peep...Peep. I turned around to see a white Camaro behind me. A familiar face was the driver.

" Hey!... You look exhausted." The familiar face said getting out of the car.

" Yeah...because I am." I said.

" I can give you a ride, we go to the same school".

" No thanks...wait...what?"

" Yeah...I saw you yesterday at the basket ball court."

" Wait...you were the one who waved us?"

" Yeah..." He said scratching the back of his head.

I looked at the time.

" No...I only have ten minutes. Let's go."

I sat in the car.

" Fasten your seat belt and get ready for a ride." He said.

I did as he said and we left.

Knock...knock...

" Come in." Principal Everdeen said.

I walked in.

" Amelia, these are the girls who I told you about." She said pointing at the girls.

I took the girls outside.

" Hi I'm Amelia .... You can call me Em and I am here to show around."

" Umm... Hi I'm Braelynn and this is Lia, Riley, Zia, Skye and Avianna." The newbie said.

Braelynn looked like a bright person very jolly. Though we did not have any conversation yet, I felt she was a free spirit. Usually people say I can describe a persons character very well, even if I'm meeting them for the first time.
