Unpredictable

Chapter 2

~Lydia's POV~

"Lyd? Lyd? Helloo?" said Zoe waving her hand in front of my face "Earth to Lydia!?"

"S-Sorry Zo, what did you say?" I apologised

"I said what colour do you want me to paint your nails?" replied Zoe holding up some bottles/pots of nail polish

"Oh, um, I like that one" I said, pointing to a light purple ice cream colour

"Ooh good choice! I love that one" said Zoe placing my hands on a tissue so no nail polish would get on the carpet.

My mind kept wondering back to Joe, he looked really handsome in his navy jumper and slightly skinny jeans. He'd gotten so much taller since I last saw him too, I mean sure that was inevitable but he looked really good. Much better than the scrawny kid I never really thought much of. But wait, I can't like him, he's my best friends brother for gods sake! I'm pretty sure there's some kind of rule about that.

~Zoe's POV~

Binky was so distracted tonight, I kept having to repeat myself to her to get her attention. I put it down to nerves from the train or something, but there was one more thing it could have been... Every so often she'd start talking about Joe...

And I'm not going to lie, it did start to annoy me.

"Your brother looks so different to how I remember him Zo" she said to me

"Yeah, I know. Anyways you need to tell me more about your travelling! I want to know everything!" I said changing the subject

"Theres nothing really much to say, it was really good though" she said reluctantly "His voice is so much deeper and his hair is so much nicer. Oh my god, remember when he bleached it blonde!' she said, to my dismay changing the subject back to Joe

"Yeah, yeah I know Binks, he's changed" I said sighing. I jumped up "right lets go get your bags and then we can un pack"

"Okay, yeah let's do that" said Lydia following me out the room

~Joe's POV~

I heard Zoe and Lydia came down the stairs giggling from the kitchen where I was on my laptop. I'd hardly been able to get Lydia off my mind since she got here, even though she was in just a basic stripy top, it hugged her figure in all the right places, and made her look effortlessly beautiful.

"There in the kitchen, one sec I'm just going to get you some sheets" called out Zoe, I guess referring to her bags which were in fact quite near me.

"Hey Joe, do you know where my bags are" asked Lydia coming in to the kitchen

"Yeah they're right here" I replied pointing to them. I went over to help her with her bags and just as I touched the handle of her suitcase she touched it too. Our hands touched and I swear I felt a spark. I looked up at her to see if she felt it too but sadly she acted like nothing happened. I sat back down at the kitchen table and carried on editing a video.

"What's that?" questioned Lydia pointing to the screen. She was so close, right next to me, I could feel her warm breath against my ear

"I make videos on YouTube, didn't you know?" I said

"Oh, I knew Zoe did, I didn't know you did? Show me a couple" she said sitting on the chair next to me. I clicked on the 'Blindfolded YouTuber Drawing Challenge' that I did with Jim. Lydia cracked up laughing at mine and Jim's failed attempts at drawing

"You're actually pretty good at drawing" she said turning to face me giving me a cheeky grin

"Thanks" I muttered. I could feel my cheeks beginning to go red...
