Chapter 16

Lydia's POV

"Marcus! We don't need any..." I picked up the jar out of the trolley and the read the name out "Any pickled figs." I made a face.

"Really Marcus, picked figs!?" I faked gagging making Marcus laugh.

"I thought you might need some, y'know to make a picked fig cake!" he said with fake seriousness.

I playfully pushed him away.

"Seriously we need to get some things that we actually need. We can't live off pizza and pasta our whole lives." I pointed to our trolley which had 4 pizzas and 4 packets of pasta in it.

"Okay, okay" he held his hands up

"Right, next isles got orange juice lets get some of that." I said taking charge.

We picked up 1 family size orange juice, and 1 family size apple juice, and plonked them in the trolley.

After about an hour of shopping our trolley was full to bursting. We pushed it over to the paying part of Sainsbury's and began to offload our shopping.

"Hi there." said the cashier. We both nodded to greet her.

"Did you find everything you were looking for?" She said, barely acknowledging me as she gazed intently at Marcus.

"Yeah thanks." Marcus muttered politely.

"Okay, well you know, if there's anything you need that you can't find, I can always be of assistance." she said emphasising the word 'always'.

Marcus smiled, but you could tell he was feeling awkward.

"Maybe I should give you my number, for customer satisfaction needs of course." she winked. I rolled my eyes, getting impatient.

"We just came hear to get our food, can we please just pay and be on our way?" I said trying to keep my cool.

She fake smiled at me "Of course."

We paid, left and put our shopping in Marcus's car.

I sat down and let out a big sigh "God she was a bit desperate."

"Yeah I know, big slaggy to flirt with someone in a supermarket."

I nodded in agreement as he started the car "Yeah, don't you just hate people that think they know everything, for all she knew we could have been going out!" the words came out of my mouth before I could think.

"Yeah but we're not." said Marcus with his eyebrows raised suspiciously.

"Ye-yeah I know I just, I just meant y'know I hate it when people just assume things."

Marcus nodded and kept his eyes on the road.

Joe's POV

I hadn't heard from Lydia in a couple of days so I decided to send her a message to see how she was getting on.

To Lyd<3: Hiya, how are you? :)

She replied almost immediately

Lyd<3: Hey I'm good, just packing away the shopping we got from Sainsbury's x

'We' ugh stupid Marcus stealing my girl.

To Lyd<3: Ah right nice.x

Lyd<3: Yeah u should really come round soon babe!xx

Zoe walked into the room clad with bags.

"Right, I'm off to see Louise's, I need something to get my mind of this whole Alfie situation. I'll be back in a few days, text or call me if you need anything."

"Zoe I'm not 2 years old, and Mum and Dad will be back soon anyways."

"Yeah yeah I know, bye bye"

"Bye" I through a sock at her to which she stuck her middle finger up at. I stuck my tongue out as she closed the door behind her.

I decided to get some food and watch something on my laptop, knowing me I'd go on YouTube to watch one of my friends's videos and end up watch some video of a giraffe giving birth to a baby hippo.

Louise's POV

"I just can't believe myself! How could I let myself get that drunk to do it with Finn! I mean sure he's good looking and everything but he's not my type!" Zoe sniffled "...Alfie's my type."

I tried to comfort her by giving one of my best chummy cuddles. "Listen chummy, you were drunk, you don't normally do things like this, I'm sure it will all blow over in a little while and everything will be forgiven and forgotten."

She looked up at me, her face resembling Darcy's after she dropped her favourite toy bunny in a muddy puddle. "Your sure?"

"I'm sure." I smiled at her, secretly knowing everything I'd just said was so not true, but I wasn't going to let on about that.

"Now why don't we forget about all this and go watch a bit of Sex and the City? I know how much Sarah Jessica Parker cheers you up!" I winked making Zoe laugh.
