~Joe's POV~
The pizza was yummy, but I couldn't get my mind of Lydia. I couldn't believe what happened, we were wrapped up under a blanket, watching one of the best love story's ever, and then she put her head on my shoulder. We were really cuddled up, I really liked it.
"Josephhh!' said Zoe "You have tears in your eyes!" I quickly wiped my eyes, and glared at Zoe. Too late. Lydia had seen, and was now cooing over me like I was a little baby.
"It's a sad film what can I say?" I defended
"Sure sure" said Zoe, Lydia winked.
By the time the film had finished the girls were crying, and were sobbing things like "It was him all along" "she didn't remember" "how sad!". I chuckled and shook my head at their girlish behaviour.
After a little while when the girls had got rid of their tears and the sadness, and reapplied their makeup Zoe's phone rang. She beamed at her phone when she saw who it was, and held up a finger to us to say 'be back in one second' and left the room.
"Who d'ya reckon it is?" Lydia asked. I mulled it over for a second then came to the conclusion it must be Alfie.
"It's got to be Alfie, whenever he rings her, she always gets so happy" I laughed "nothing to do with the fact that I just heard her say his name or anything".
She laughed then said "he was on the train this morning and they way they looked at each other, they just stared into each others eyes, and looked almost in love". I suddenly realised we staring into each others eyes too, we'd grown quite close these past days, I mean we were always close because we'd known each other our whole lives, but I swear that moment with the blanket, and how she leant on me, it seemed like our relationship was more than friends. She bit her lip, and I shuffled up closer to her, I know it was a risk but there was just something in my heart that told me she felt the same way. I covered us with the blanket and she snuggled into my chest. No one spoke but no words were needed...
She looked up at me and bit her lip again, I smiled softly at her and she did the same to me. I think something might have happened had not stupid Zoe bounded into the living room. I looked at Lydia half expecting her to spring apart from me, but she didn't, she just stayed there. The smile that was so big and bright on Zoe's face faded immediately. For a couple of seconds she just stared, flicking between the two of us, trying to work things out in her head. Finally she cleared her throat and began to say something.
"What?!" It wasn't much but at least she said something I guess. Then she just left the room in shock. Lydia scrambled out of under the blanket and went to follow her. Not before she turned around pecked me on the cheek and told me to text her later.
"I don't have your number though" I called out.
I gave her my phone and she quickly wrote it down and then went to see Zoe. I wasn't sure whether I was supposed to go and find Zoe too, but I decided against it. I sent Lydia a quick text so she had my number, not expecting her to reply. It was nearly 10 and we had to get the train in the morning, so I decided to go to bed. As I crept up the stairs I listened carefully to see if I could hear anything from their room. I could slightly hear Lydia trying to defend herself, I couldn't make out what she was saying, however by the tone of her voice I could tell what she was trying to do. I went into my room and changed into my pyjamas- bare chest and pj shorts- and got into my bed. I heard my phone vibrate and saw I had a text from Lydia:
Z is pretty much ok with us but she's annoyed coz she thinks I lied to her the other day X
I sent back: Ok get some sleep we'll sort it out in th mornin x
