With large dilated pupil, she looked at at her bed room ceiling, a tint of bewilderment in her eyes. Her large black eyes. She stared as if her subconscious was searching was something, as if all those answers, about her, her father, her family were all written there. She gazed.

Lyne knew she was high, she took some pills as she returned home from school. Alex was supposed to come over to her place, but he was late. He possibly got way too high and was unable to even get out of his bed. They were friends for this reason.

Lyne slowly got up, still looking up at the ceiling. God knows what was she searching.

She was three when she got to know everything, seven when she actually understood. And now, nine years later, she had made herself comfortable with those facts. She got so habituated to them and she even forgot they existed.

She never found herself mourning or crying about them, or even thinking about them. But somehow, Jenny Gilmour's death made her feel bad. Not about Jenny, but about herself.

"Jenny Gilmour was dead!", she exclaimed.

It felt as if suddenly something was awakened inside her. It was after all this time that she felt that someone had died.

She sat down on the ground, leaning on the bed. Staring at the wall opposite to her, all covered with posters of numerous bands and some hand made artwork.

'The Gilmour girl was dead. Dead. She had hung herself from the ceiling fan. But why?', she wondered.

God knows why, this thought made her cringe, it made her skin crawl, and made a chill run down her spine. She felt as if she could see the hanging body. Feel it swing from the ceiling. Smell the blood slowly empty the veins. Sense the body become colder by the second. This feeling was strange.

She wanted to get over this, she had felt so much pain once, that now she was accostumed to it. But this, it wasn't pain, it was a feeling that choked her. As if it was piercing her heart from the inside of her body. She got up in a haste. And from her drawer pulled out a joint.

Searched for her lighter, and lit it.

As the smokes filled up her lungs, her mind let go of the thoughts, slowly. That was the magic, one joint and even if for a few hours, all your sorrows blend in oblivion. A smoke in, a smoke up and that florescent adolescent of sixteen felt lighter.

She began to think again, how would it be if she...

A doorbell.

She rushed down. It was Alex. And amazing, he also got pizza. I guess that's what best friends are for.

Though she didn't say anything, Alex's presence was needed at that time.

Though, he's not the ideal best friend, she really esteems him.

He got to her room, sat down on the bed and looked around.

Something was weird, he didn't know what, but something was, maybe for the curtain. He didn't pay much heed to it.

He had some news for her, bad news, grave news. He didn't wish to tell her, but he had to.

Before he would begin to speak, he went close to her and hugged her. She thought it was a bit weird, a guy like him hugging her and all.

Rubbing her hand on her back he whispered into her ears 'you know right, that I'm always gonna be there for you? Best friend?'.

Not knowing what to say, she just smiled and enjoyed his existence.
