'Are you alright?' 'Lyne?'.

Alex's voice was echoing in Lyne's ears. Through the varying level's of consciousness Lyne could feel Alex trying to wake her up.

She had overdosed. And the stuff was pretty strong. She tried to open her eyes, she did. But her vision was blurred.

For a few minutes she just lay there on her bedroom floor looking up at the ceiling.

Her mind swinging like a pendulum between consciousness and illusion.

Illusion and reality. Reality or illusion, or maybe this reality was an illusion, and her dreams were the truth.

Thoughts broke.

She turned her head slowly towards Alex. He was still sitting there. He helped her get up and made her sit on the bed. he even got her a bottle of water.

'Chew it, quickly!' Alex said while handing over a mint chewing gum.

He also handed her an eye-drop.

Lyne's mom would be there in no time and she had to look sober.

It is not that her mother could possibly stop her from doing all those stuff, it's just that she didn't wish to disappoint her mom.

Lyne and Alex both freshened up and came down to the drawing room and stitched on the TV like two best friends generally do.

In around ten minutes Lyne's mom came home.

Lyne, as usual greeted her mom with a energetic hug, but this time, unlike every other day, her mother's reply was cold.

She didn't ask her about her day in school, or even ask Alex what he'd like to eat.

She just smiled and walked up to her room.

Both Alex and Lyne were silent. They knew something was wrong but no one had the courage to ask what?

They both continued watching a movie for sometime, until Lyne's mom called her.

Keeping Alex seated on the couch, Lyne went up to her mom.

Downstairs, Alex could hear a few parts of the conversation between Lyne and her mom.

'Why do I have to go?'

'What does he possibly want now?'

Lyne's voice screamed.

'But we don't have a choice, you know it right?'

Said Lyne's mom, in a calm tone.

Alex could hear Lyne aggressively climbing down the stairs. Though he could make out quite of what's going on, he didn't ask.

Lyne grabbed her jacket, and pulled Alex out of the house, shutting the door as strongly as she could.

It was around 8pm in the evening, when Lyne and Alex walked towards the wood. At this time, the number of people on the street reduce extremely. The whole place becomes quite and dark, just the way Lyne likes it.

Lyne was walking fast, even with her tiny feet she could walk pretty fast. Alex didn't ask her a single thing. He knew that when the time was right she would tell him everything in detail.

They walked for about a mile when they reached their 'spot' in the woods.

It was a silent, calm place.

They had discovered it back when they were in 5th grade.

This was the place where Lyne had shown her cuts to Alex for the first time. This was the place where Alex cried for the first time in front of a person. This was the place where they both smoked together for the first time.

Yes, this was the place that started the deadly duo of Alex and Lyne that the whole damn school was scared of.

The trees of this place was familiar with these two.

Lyne sat there, on the fallen tree trunk. Alex sat beside her. Lyne pulled out her earphones and started at Alex. Alex just stared back.

There was silence between them for sometime.

They were used to this silence, they loves this silence, that's why they even loved this place. Away from other swallow hypocrite humans.

'Remember when you promised me in 6th grade that you'd help me kill people?' Lyne said.

Alex looked at her for sometime and then said 'Obviously I remember'.

'Okay, then help me now, I need a shot gun', Lyne spoke.

'But why? Who are you planning to kill?' Alex seemed confused.

'Someone, I just need a shot gun, your father has one, can you give it to me?' Lyne kept on saying.

'Well, he's barely at home, so I can get it for you' Alex giggled.

'Perfect, then get it for me, okay?'

'Okay!'

Through out this whole conversation Alex thought that Lyne was just joking, like she always does.

But what worried him was not knowing, who this 'someone' she planned on killing was.

If only he knew who this 'someone' was.
