Shadow's Curse

Chapter 2

"Where are the others, Shadow?" One says with a growl.

"I don't know what you are talking about."

I can sense Crescent is scared. I need to come up with a plan to get him without getting killed myself. I have three choices.
1- run, grab crescent and run some more
2- wait until daytime and surprise them in their sleep
3- shoot, (pray for a good shot) and hope that I didn't hit Crescent.

Damn, this is hard. Choice #1 sounds best.

I slowly crawl out and creep out. My leg isn't even out yet and I see them tearing him up! We were told this is a vampire place not a werewolf hideout! They lied. I don't stand a chance. There is too many of them. I know he isn't going to live.

As many tears stream down my cheek I watch horrified as they are tearing my brother piece by piece. After a couple minutes they clear out.

"He is done for. Goodbye Shadow, he had it coming."

What do they mean he had it coming? What did he do?

What a beast, an evil murderer is what he is. Well we kill others for the good of the world. They so it for worse- for fun.

Knowing the coast is clear I run out. He's coughing up blood.

"I got the ammo.... I'm so sorry I left you there..."

"What?! That doesn't matter! You are going to be okay!"

"Cresta, listen. The future holds a curse coming to you, when you turn twenty. Don't let it control you."

"What? What are you talking about?"

He takes off his necklace and puts it around mine. I can't breathe, I'm crying so much. What is this? Why is he giving it to me?

"So I will always be with you. No matter what."

A single tear falls from my cheek onto his chest.

"The Shadows Curse." He replies

"I don't understand. What is it?" I'm gonna be lost without you.

"I don't have long, give my love to my family and my mate."
He sheds a single tear. I wipe mine.

Wait, he hasn't even met his mate yet. He is so young, he can't die. He is my twin, he stays by my side- always.

"I love you Cresta..... Take me home."

He looks up and closes his eyes. It's sunrise.

He's gone.
