Chapter 8

"Miss, it's time for breakfast." I think it's Gavin.

"What?"

"Come get some breakfast, we are having French Toast. Requested by the Luna."

"Can you give me ten more minutes? I need to get dressed."

"Okay, only ten, no more."

"That's all I will need, thanks."

"Welcome."

I get out of bed and step into the closet. I grab blue leggings, a white tee and some boots. I change and I put on Crescent's necklace. I walk downstairs. It's a very organized place they have here and I like it. I walk down to the kitchen and the rest of the pack is eating. As I step into the door the whole place goes silent. Some adults are murmuring. What do they have against me honestly? I haven't done anything to them.

"..... Why is she here? She's a killer.... a Shadow Hunter...."

"The Alpha would never allow this nonsense.... She endangers the pack!"

I walk to the end of the table where Gavin is sitting.

"What's up? Sleep well?" He seems happy, unlike the rest of the people here.

"Why is everyone so silent? Is is me?"

"I'm afraid so. They know you are a Shadow Hunter." He looks across the table, grabbing a plate and a stack of toast.

"Whatever, they are gonna have to get over it."

"Can't say. The Alpha and Luna will take care of it. They know what happened. I only know of what you said." He shoves a whole forkful of toast in his mouth.

"Hungry much?" I'm so sarcastic when I'm tired.

"Are you?"

"Yeah. How long have I been here? Asleep?"

"Well you got here three days ago and you slept until now. I heard you had a curse. What's that about?"

"Nothing. I'm actually not hungry..... See you later." I really lost my appetite after he asked of the curse.

I head up to my room and sit on the bed. I'm staring at Crescent's Machete. I really need to catch some air. I want to go outside but I have nobody to accompany me. Gavin.

I walk downstairs and look for him. I ask a couple of people where he might be but everyone just turns away. I'm tired of the people here. I finally spot him after a couple of minutes and ask him.

"No I can't go until later, sorry. I have training. Would you like to come?"

"No. Is there anyone else who will go?"

"Ask Ella. She's pretty nice to strangers."

"I'm not a stranger. I won't harm anyone here."

"Well, to make them welcome you, tell them at initiation."

"When is that?"

"I don't know, ask Luna Katherine."

"Okay then, I will!"

He rolled his eyes as I ran away.

After being lost in this 'castle' I find the office they work in.

"Luna Katherine?" I ask

"Yes? What do you need?"

"I... Came to ask when initiation was.... Gavin told me about it."

"It is in three days time... Why do you ask?"

"I want to let everyone know I'm not going to hurt them. I don't like to be ignored or told I'm a monster."
