Texas street races were great. The same back street alleys. The same mint cars. I missed it.

"Holy shit" Tyler said, wide eyed staring around at everything.

"Glad you came now?" I asked as I got out with a smug smile on my face. He mimicked me then laughed. We sat on the hood of my grey 2012 Camaro and stared out at the crowds forming. I think it was the black racing stripes that were drawing everyone's attention.

"Come on, watch me race" I told him and ran round to the drivers side. I missed getting all excited about a race. He laughed and got in the passenger side. I stopped at the start and he got out to stand on the otherside of the railings. The sluty starter came to us and asked for 15 large, meaning 1500 and we handed it over.

"3! 2! 1!.. Go!" She shouted and we sped off the mark. We sped down the 1/4 of a mile stretch, edging each other the whole way. Eventually, I was fed up of playing games so I pressed the NOS button on the wheel and sped over the line first. I whooped to myself as I pulled up at the line to collect my money. I came up behind Tyler and he was smiling.

"You want a go?" I asked him. His face lit up more and he nodded frantically at me. I laughed and threw him the keys. He got in and drove to the start as I took his place at the railings. He got out and pulled his wallet from his pocket. The starter was looking confused at him

"Cash in hand" she said

"I got card" he said and pulled it out

"Cash in hand!" She repeated, pissed off now. I shook my head and rubbed my forehead at his stupidity.

"Hey" I heard someone's voice next to me. I jumped, startled by him. Sudden panic filled me. It was one of the gang members that chased us back at V8. Did he track me down here to finish the job. "Your a good racer" he added. He didn't recognise me? I hid the panic expression on my face with a smile

"Thanks" I replied

"Nikos" he held his hand out for me to shake it

"Elena" I replied and shook it

"So, uh, I was wondering, I need some new drivers for my business and I wanted to invite you to the initiation race" he told me

"For who?" I asked

"You ever heard of De Luca?" He asked back. I shook my head "He pays good" he whispered then laughed. He had a smokers voice and his laugh was just the same. He had a slight foreign accent with black hair that was shaved at the bottom and slightly gelled at the top. I laughed nervously with him.

"Meet me here tomorrow" he said and gave me a slip off paper "7 sharp, don't be late" he added and walked away. What that fuck? He didn't recognise me, he didn't try to kill me and he wanted me to be part of his 'team'.

"Did you see that, Els?" Tyler appeared in front of me. Els. All the memories of Jayden flooded back to me once again.

The gang.

I could kill that gang that killed Jaydens father. I owed it to him after opening up to me after all the years of keeping it to himself. I have the chance to do it, so why not?

"Elena?" He asked. I snapped out my trance

"Yeah, that was great" I replied, still sidetracked. "Come on, let's go" I added and we got in the car and left.

"Hey, I was thinking maybe you should meet Bonnie tomorrow" He said as we drove towards mine. I nodded. "Are you okay? Your really quiet" he noted

"Yeah, I'm fine, down here?" I asked as we came to a junction and he nodded. I turned down it and he told me which house.

"Is this Bonnie's house?" I asked

"How'd you guess?" He asked and I slowly stopped

"You weren't brought up to own a house this posh" I joked and we laughed. He got out and started to walk towards the house.

"Don't forget to be here by 5 tomorrow night!" He shouted without turning around. I laughed to myself as I drove away. Damn. That only left me 2 hours to get to the place. I didn't even know where it was. I raced home and locked up behind me before turning on the wifi. I typed the address into my phone and searched through the results. It seemed to be an underground parking lot that had been taken over by De Luca. It was about an hour away from Bonnie's place, but I could make it in half the time. I turned off the wifi, money's tight, and headed upstairs to bed. I had no idea why I was going to do this, kill the people that killed Jaydens dad. He turned his back on me, and the crew. Although deep down I knew that wasn't true. I wore the silver crucifix he bought me and I still had the note that went with it. It reminded me that he wasn't a complete jerk. I slowly drifted off to sleep with these thought drifting around in my head.
