I was speeding down the highways. I only had 20 minutes to get there. I followed the satnav and pulled off the highway and ended up in a city. I drove through that and on the outskirts, it asked me to pull into the underground parking lot.

"You are near your destination" the satnav said.

"No shit" I said to it as music filled my car. I switched it off and looked up to see loads of people on the hoods of their cars with girls on each arm. I put both my windows down and tried to find a space to park. All these people couldn't be here to drive for De Luca, could they? I eventually found a space and got out. I sat on my hood and looked around. Nikos strolled over to me, looking cocky. I sighed but smiled. He was pretty fit to be honest.

"How's my baby girl?" He asked and went to kiss me. I turned my head and he kissed my cheek instead. He looked down at his wristwatch and raised his bottom lip and eyebrows then nodded "And early too" he added with a small smile. He had a black button up shirt on with jeans and white converse shoes.

"So all these people here for De Luca?" I asked. He laughed wildly

"No, they're just enjoying the party" he replied. I mentally sighed. "You need to come up top, they going to start soon" he added and gestured for me to follow him. I jumped off my hood and followed him to a lift. He looked up and down me.

"You look good baby girl" he said with one sided smile. I rolled my eyes and looked ahead. I heard him breath a laugh. The lift stopped and we got out. We walked toward a conference room where there were 3 other racer's, like me, and 2 other guys sat opposite them. Nikos winked at me then joined the 2 facing us while I sat with the racers. One, I guessed was a body guard of sorts and the other was De Luca. He had a sharp blue suit with deep lines all over his face, which I couldn't determine if they were wrinkles or from a freak accident. He had sleek black hair which was combed back with lots of gel and loads of gold rings on his fingers.

The racers were off all sorts. I was the only girl. Typical. One of the racers was black and scrawny with an annoying high pitched voice. Another looked quite old with long brown hair which wasn't kept tidy. And the last also had brown hair but his was like Nikos', slightly gelled at the top and shaved at the sides. He had quite a young face, probaly the same age as me. He smiled at me as I sat down.

"Yo, what is this? A girl, racing, you gotta be kidding me dawg" the annoying black guy whined.

"Worried you might lose?" I asked him.

"I- er.. No, er" he stammered. All the racers snickered with me.

"Silence, this is no joke" De Luca said. We looked down into our laps like naughty children. "Who ever wins this race will have the chance to work for me" he says. The body guard grabs a set of satnav's and hands them out to us

"This isn't some ordinary satnav, this is our way of communicating with you, when we need you for a job, this will tell you where to go and give you all the relative information" Nikos explained. He pressed something on his satnav and all of ours buzzed

"Sync up" De Luca ordered and him and his body guard stood up "Meet you downstairs" he said and they left.

"You heard the man, let's go, come on" Nikos said and we all got up and left.

"Hey, nice one on shutting up Milo, he's a jerk" the guy with the young face said with a small smile "I'm Jake, by the way" he said.

"Elena" I replied.

"Good luck out there" he added and headed to his car. Seriously, it must just be this outfit. I headed to my car and Nikos was there

"Good luck baby girl, you'll do fine" he told me. I held back an eye roll and smiled. "Hey, I was wondering, if you wanted to go out after this? Like to a meal, not to mine, that would be weird, but.." He asked, sort of. I couldn't help but smile

"Sorry, I can't, I have to get home after this" I apologized. His smiled dropped a little

"Alright, maybe some other time" he added. I nodded and got in my car. I followed the others out of the parking lot and round the back. I find it kind of cute that Nikos asked me out and not for me to sleep with him, to actually go out somewhere. I know I shouldn't because he's probably part of a drug cartel or something, but it was cute.

I pulled up at the startline along with everyone else.

"Hey!" It was Milo "Boys beat girls everytime!" He shouted

"Muscle beats import, everytime" I shouted back

"Touché" I heard Jake say with a smile. I looked over at him and laughed. The satnav started a countdown from 10. We all shut up then.

"7...6..."

"You ready?" Jake asked

"We talking or are we racing?" I asked. He laughed.

"3...2...1...Race!" We all sped off the mark. We pulled out into the traffic and horn blasts filled my car. I laughed to myself and sped on.

Everything was smooth sailing, or driving, until the old guy decided to smash into me. I groaned. He swerved around a car and smashed into me again. I held it well. I guessed what he was going to do next and he swerved around a car and pulled over to hit me again but I breaked and he started rolling. A car smashed into him followed by another 2. I giggled to myself until someone ran into the back of me. It was a car that wasn't paying attention. I moaned and envisioned the state the car would be in. I shifted up gears and carried on. I eventually caught up to Jake and Milo. I pulled up alongside Milo and his face was so concentrated until he saw me and he was shocked. I smiled and both me and Jake crashed into him causing him to break and smash into another car. Me and Jake were laughing so hard. There was no way he was getting back in this.

Just me and him now

"1/4 mile left" the satnav voice said. I smiled. Me and Jake stared at each other, smiling. He gestured for me to go ahead of him. I catiously edged forward and he did it again. Screw it. I shifted up gears and sped forward in front of him. Why was he letting me go in front of him? He wanted this as much as I did? Right? I ignored the questions in my head and sped over the line first. I drifted to a stop and got out.

"Fantástico" Nikos said as he approached me. I smiled. Jake pulled up alongside me.

"Good race" he said as he came over. I smiled even more and he offered me to shake his hand, so I did. I felt him put something into my hand. I didn't bother looking at it, I just discretly put it in my pocket. He got back in his car and drove off.

"Drivers license" he ordered and I gave him it. "Phone number" he added. I glared at him.

"That better not be for De Luca?" I asked

"The license if for De Luca, the phone number if for me" he explained. I couldn't help but grin. I gave him it then I left. As I was driving home, I checked my pocket to see what Jake had given me before we left. It was his number. Guys giving me their numbers from everywhere. I had to laugh to myself. Finally, I got home and went in. I chucked my keys on the counter and grabbed myself a cider then I heard a knock on the door. I hesitantly walked towards it and grabbed my metal baseball bat. I opened the door slightly to see Tyler with a Nike sports bag slung over his shoulder.

"Can I stay here?" He asked. I smiled and opened the door fully. He dropped his bag down and hugged me. He noticed the baseball bat and smirked at me

"Taught you well" he told me. I smiled and put it back in its place.

"Hey, I'm tired, I'll speak to you about it in the morning" I replied and headed upstairs

"Yeah, thanks Els" he added. I grimaced but then smiled to myself

"Night bro" I replied and carried on to my room. I got changed into my pyjamas and got into bed. All the numbers were entered into my phone and I slowly drifted off to sleep, thinking about the crazyness of today
