I woke up with a groan. Luckily, we didn't have work today so I stayed were I was until I thought I'd better check on Tyler. I rolled out of bed and onto the floor with a thud. I managed to get up and stagger out of my room when I saw Tyler wandering around, tiding up. What is this?
"What are you doing?" I asked him
"Tiding a bit" he replied simply
"Who are you and what have done with Ty?" I asked. He laughed a little "How'd we get home?" I asked him
"I drove us back and left my car at the races" he told me "I'm gonna go get it now" I nodded and he went down the stairs. Clearly, he didn't drink himself silly. I turned around and headed back to my room to get changed. I grabbed some sweats, a baggy tank top and changed then headed downstairs.
I noticed my phone buzzing on the table. I grabbed it and it was Nikos. I answered it and held it to my ear
"Hey, are you okay? I've been calling you all morning" he rushed
"I'm fine, went to a race after the club and got a bit tipsy" I told him, half lying.
"Okay, well as long as you're alright" he half asked. I nodded, as if he could see me
"Yeah, don't worry" I replied
"What are you doing tomorrow?" He asked
"Er, nothing at the moment" I told him
"Alright, well we're going out somewhere" he informed me.
"You know, you could off told me earlier, I gotta find an outfit and choose my make up-"
"I only decided now" he interrupted and laughed. I couldn't help but laugh with him "Alright, see ya baby girl" he added
"Bye" I replied and hung up. I checked through my messages. 15 from Nikos, 28 missed calls from Nikos and.. 3 messages from Jake. I opened them first.
Elena, call me
Hello? Txt me back when u get this
This is important, please call me as soon as, I gotta talk to u
Shit. I called him straight away. Maybe this was just his way of getting me to answer my phone. He answered on the third ring
"Hello?" He asked
"Hi, what's so important?" He asked
"Can I meet you at your house? I gotta show you some stuff" he asked. I shook my head to myself.
"No, my brother's home and he doesn't know I'm doing any of this, what about yours?" I asked back. He sighed
"Alright, I'll text you the address, the sooner you get here, the sooner you can get on with your day" he told me. I scoffed at him
"Bye" and I put the phone down on him. Tyler came through the door at that moment. I grabbed my keys from the drawers that we next to the front door and caught the door before it closed.
"Where are you going now?" He asked, confused
"I do have a life Ty, I'm going to a mates" I replied and left the house. I got the text from Jake and put it into my normal satnav. I didn't have to go far until I arrived at his house. I walked to the front door and knocked
"Round back!" He shouted from the side of his house. I followed his voice and found him stood at a side door. I wandered in behind him and he led me to an office. It had a whiteboard at one side of the small office with loads of pictures of De Luca and everybody connected with him. There was also red tape that connected different pictures to each other.
"First of all, hows you and Nikos?" He asked without a 'hello' first.
"Fine, why did you want me here, Jake?" I asked
"Well, do you wanna know more about De Luca?" he asked back. I sighed but nodded.
"Okay, so De Luca is the head of a drug cartel, one of the biggest round here and he has many people working for him, one of them being Nikos, his second in command. If you can work your way up to be with Nikos when him, De Luca and a few other of his goons are at some kinda meeting, we can find out more info" he explained
"There's more to it than that though" I told him. He looked at me with a blank expression but I knew what it was covering up.
"He's looking for this guy, Jayden Dunns, son of Stanley Dunns who was shot at his factory 5 years ago. Now De Luca wants to finish off the job and kill his son also" Jake started
"What about his sister? What's he gonna do with her?" I asked him without thinking. He didn't hide the shock on his face this time.
"How do you know about his sister?" He asked back, confused. I sighed and began to tell him about how I knew Jayden and what happened between us
"Why are you doing this? He betrayed you" he stated, intrigued in my story
"Because I love him, Jake, if they're after him and Kaylee, I'm gonna stop em'" I told him. He nodded, understanding why I joined in the first place now.
"And how are you gonna stop em' Elena?" He asked
"Shoot em'" I replied
"I need them alive, El, they're gonna be the ones to get me a medal and get you a clean record" he informed me
"No way, you're not having all of them alive! I'm killing the ones who killed Jayden's father" I snapped
"This isn't a negotiation, Elena, they're coming alive and that's it" he ordered. I sighed yet again. I was going to kill them no matter what Jake said. "This is the group that killed him" he threw out a picture of them from a folder onto the desk "This was taken from security cameras after the shooting" he added. I memorized them the best I could.
"Why don't you just tell me the names?" I asked in hope
"Cause' I'll know you'll go hunt them down" he replied with a smug smile. I sighed and he breathed a laugh. "Go on, that's all you need to know" he said with a small smile. I smiled back and left the office
"See you at the next meet up, pig" I muttered the last bit as I left the house.
"I heard that!" He said as I walked out of sight. I laughed and got in my car to drive home. I hope Tyler wasn't too pissed at me for earlier. I have been laying into him a lot lately, but it's only because I don't want him to get screwed over, like I did.
