Summary: Yunho needs his morning kiss.
(short but cute)
-----
morning kisses are something every married couple does and even though they aren't really married, it's a tradition yunho does his best to uphold.
on some mornings all yunho has to do is turn his head and plant the first kiss of the day on changmin's temple, cheek, lips. he's careful not to wake him, content with just watching changmin get some much needed rest. the younger man has wrapped himself around yunho, his head usually resting on yunho's chest, rising and falling with the older man's breathing. the extra body heat is uncomfortable, but yunho doesn't mind, doesn't mind at all.
on some mornings yunho wakes changmin up with soft kisses, coaxing him to consciousness with gentle touches. he loves these mornings, when changmin is drowsy and pliant in his arms, and he can steal as many kisses as he wants. on days full of work, mornings like these leave him with a slightly less snarky bandmate that's more prone to soft compliments than relentless teasing. on their days off, when there's no reason for them to leave the comfort of their bed, mornings like these lead to a day of lazy lovemaking.
on mornings when yunho wakes up just a bit too late, the kiss is just a quick peck, given somewhere between shaking changmin awake, pulling on clothes or devouring breakfast. if they are very short on time, yunho steals a kiss when they're brushing their teeth. changmin hates it. the leader has a principle of getting his kiss before they leave the apartment and he does his very best to find the right opportunity. so if they manage to get ready, bags packed, shoelaces tied and jackets on, and there's still no brush of lips, yunho is sure it's bound to be a bad day. then, just before unlocking the door and facing the tiresome day, changmin will turn around and remind yunho he's not the only good kisser in the room.
sometimes yunho's morning kiss isn't really a morning kiss at all. if he's lucky, it'll be a dinner kiss, shared over a private meal. but that's a rarity because there's always someone who wants to eat with the great gods of the east. it could be an afternoon kiss if their manager doesn't share their ride and the windows are tinted enough. usually it ends up being a double good night kiss instead as a slightly grumpy yunho demands his fair share. changmin doesn't mind, just sets the alarm five minutes earlier so yunho can have his silly little kiss on time the next day.
there are mornings when they don't wake up in the same bed. sometimes it's just a wall or two between them due to some dumb fight they let get out of hand, ending with the other sleeping on the couch out of some childish display of independence. they'll ask for forgiveness in the morning, disguising the apology in the familiar habit even though both know and take it for what it really is. in the worst case there's an ocean between them. changmin rarely says he misses the older man, but yunho doesn't need changmin to tell him. it's enough when at night changmin curls that much closer, needy for the skin contact the older man would never deny him. yunho has no qualms with making silly smooching sounds over the phone, but for changmin it's on top of a very long list of things he will never, ever do. he has no problem with phone sex though.
the absolutely best mornings in yunho's mind are the ones when changmin wakes him up. he likes to pretend he's still asleep just to have changmin shower him with attention but the younger man is too clever, always catching the smile ghosting on his lips. the hands wandering along his sides come up to cup his face. yunho opens his eyes slowly, taking in the sight of changmin's messy bedhair, eyes still a bit cloudy from sleep and pouty lips tilted in a small smile. he drags his fingers through the maknae's hair in a useless attempt to straighten it out. resting his hand at changmin's nape, they both lean in for the first kiss of the day. when they pull away, changmin wishes yunho a good morning. yunho tugs changmin back down, thinking it's a very good morning indeed.
