Chapter 17: What are you doing here!?

I had adapted, the art of half running/walking in high heels, I didn't look too ridiculous if I do say so myself! Still I had that odd air of crazy-person-belongs-in-a-mental-home about me. This was due to the fact that I was looking down at my phone screen, rubbing my teeth furiously to remove the pink, while smiling like a Cheshire cat to myself. Don't send me to a mental home, I have a date in 5 minutes! 5 MINUTES!! I NEEDED TO SPEED UP! No longer half running/walking, instead I went half running/spring.

When I finally arrived, Joe wasn't standing by the fountain. All that rushing for nothing! If you plan a date at 2:30, you turn up at 2:30! Even if you woke up half an hour ago!

Awkwardly I stood in front of the fountain, twiddling my thumbs. I looked down and spotted the dress I'd quickly grabbed this morning. It was a knee length red, plaid dress. Over the dress was my white puffy winter jacket. It made waiting bearable. 

When Joe FINALLY turned up at 2:50, I was pretty mad. I sent him the best imitation of Zo's death glare.

He looked shocked before replying, "{your name} what are you doing here!?"

What? Were we meant to meet somewhere else?

"What do you mean?" I asked

"Well I had a date with...uhh...you?"

Though it sounded like more of a question, I was happy our date was official. Though I never did get what he was asking when he asked, "what are you doing here!?"

"Shall we get going then?" I asked

"Yeah sure! Wow me away!"

It took a bit of time, but Joe finally got the reference from our texts earlier and laughed awkwardly. I should just stop with lame jokes now. I just wanted to lighten the mood. Even though we were only 5 minutes in, this date felt different from our one in the park before.

Gently Joe took ahold of my hand, probably signaling me to stop with the comedy. We strolled towards the bus stop and eventually we ended up in front of my favorite amusement park

Surprised and delighted at the same time, I asked "Joe! How did you know!? This is my favorite theme park!"

He smiled at my delight using his normal cocky grin.

"That's a secret babe!"

Maybe Zoe had something to with it.

Excitedly, I dragged Joe into the amusement park and started to venture through my wonderland.
