Immediately I stood up from my seat, turning around to face the guy, whom the voice belonged to.

"JOE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?"

He looked up and down at me and Caspar sitting at the table. Then a cloud passed over his face. He held an extremely irritated expression, but it didn't show in his voice.

"I could ask you the same darling." Remaining calm and composed, he continued on "What are you doing here with my roommate?"

"Your roommate?" I asked honestly surprised.

"Yes, the one you're on a date with right now." He stated calmly through gritted teeth.

Releasing Joe had made a false accusation, I quickly replied "No no! It's not a date, we're just friends, right Caspar?" I turned to Caspar for support, but when I did so, Caspar was already by my side. He went and slid his am over my shoulder protectively, then spoke.

"What's it to you Joe?"

"Well me and {your name} were dating a week ago."

Caspar gaped at me, jaw dropped to the floor.

"YOU DATED JOE!?! THIS JOE!?" Caspar asked pointing directly at Joe.

"What!? NO!!" I screamed at Caspar, then I turned to Joe "We did NOT date!"

"What do you mean!? If I remember correctly, I took you out to dinner and lunch. We went to the park and an amusement park."

I could see Caspar out of corner of my eye, he looked physically heart broken. That expression was breaking my heart. Even though I knew telling Caspar I wanted to just be friends would hurt him, I couldn't let him get hurt because of a misunderstanding.

Staring directly at Joe, I said "No! No! Joe, we both know we were never dating. Don't make Caspar misunderstand. We went out on dates, but do they really count? The whole time you were trying to prove a point to Zoe, and the second date was because you sent a text to the wrong person."

Joe looked down, feeling guilty. I sympathised. I didn't want to hurt him, but this was the truth. To be honest, I wasn't mad at Joe anymore. I just didn't want to like him. It was a stretch, but I wouldn't have minded being friends with him.

"Jo-"

Caspar interrupted "I think we should leave." Caspar grabbed my hand, leading me out of Starbucks. We walked hand in hand down the street, heading to an unknown direction.
