We were getting closer to the Wisdom tree. I had not asked Shila why we were going there, mainly because I did not want to object. Shila and I had become really good friends in a really short time. She had let me stay at her house for several days, and she did not know me at all.
Shila and I were very fond of nature and magic. We shared similar interests.
I have realised, diary, that I haven't described Shila to you, because I was in pain for most of the time.Shila is also an elve, but she is from a different region. Elves are usually the same, but depending on the geographical location they can have some peculiarities.
Natraco elves are one of those types of elves. They share the white hair, the pale skin and the pointy ears, but they have green eyes.
Shila's eyes were beautiful. Nobody could resist to looking at her eyes, which reminded you of the light green leaves that poppies have during spring. It was such a characteristic green; her father's were dark green, but Shila's eyes were a really light shade of green, and they shone in the distance.
At night, her eyes light up and become a turqoise color, kind of resembling the early morning sky.
I am telling you this because she knew that it was not normal, and that my eyes were not normal either. Nevertheless, she is not a prosox, she is just an elve. She did ask me if my eyes were like that for a reason, and I have been pondering if to answer that question ever since she asked it to me. I have decided that when the time comes, I will tell her, but not for now. I have also been asking myself what she meant when she said that we had to "follow the breeze".
- You have been really quiet the whole time, is something bothering you?- she asked me in a really polite way.
- No, I was just thinking.
- About what, exactly?
- About what you said this morming.
- Follow the breeze?
- yes, that.
- It's an old expression that we say here in Natraco. It means that you have to go into the Crimson forest, where the breeze goes, and then go to the Trepomo mountains from there.
- Why can't you go immediately to the Trepomo mountains? You know, through that road.
- Well, if you ever want to end up dead, go ahead, take that path. It might be shorter, but it is really dangerous. That whole landscape is dangerous, you know.
I did know what she meant. I thought that the path would not be as dangerous as the mountains. The mountains are really tall, and according to people, deathly. That is why Natraco is so peaceful, because it is covered by the mountains. It protects them from both bad weather and neighboring cities and towns.
- It actually says it in its name. Not many people know, but it stands for treacherous pointy mountains - Shila said triumphantly.
- You really like to be right, don' t you?
- Well, it's usually father who talks to strangers about Natraco. For once, I am allowed to show someone that I am as smart as him. He is too overprotective sometimes.
- I noticed that. But he is a good father Shila, you are really lucky to have him.
- Who would have thought. I am getting life lessons from someone who is just one year older than me, and who, not too long ago was escaping from home.
I was not surprised that she knew. I had not told her, but it was only a matter of time that she found out about it.
- How long have you known for?
