I slept fairly well, taking into account that I had multiple thin cuts across my body and a knee pain that I am beginning to think will be there for a really long time. Why is it there? Well, it is now a reminder not to get into a fight when you have a wound that is still recovering, and more specifically, a reminder not to run afterwards.
I guess what I am concerned about, and the main reason I told you I slept well, is because I am somehow worried about the fact I slept peacefully. Just a day ago I had killed a goblin. I mean, of course, one could argue that he deserved it, or that I did it in self-defense, but I guess that your first kill is not easy to shake off your head.
These thoughts were interrupted as soon as I got awake, and noticed that Shila was next to the ogre, who, for the sake of the story, we will nickname Og, because I have still not been able to get to know his name.
There she was, sound asleep, with Og guarding the place. I observed her. Her distorted body had changed dramatically from the Shila I knew. Now she looked fierce, ready for action. Innocence was no longer found on her body, now perpetrated by wounds and sealed by scars of different sizes and shapes. Not such a long time had passed by from the last time I saw her, but she was so different.
I guess that she did really fall off the elevator, which would explain some of her scars and wounds, but something else had happened. Something had made her lose that childish innocence that many Natraco villagers are characterised by.
- Max-xi-mus-ss hit Shila. All time. Shila tries to protect me from Max-xi-mus-ss.
- How did Shila meet you?
- Shila need help. Shila got help. Her father came to boss. Boss helped Shila. Then boss made Shila work for boss.
- I see.
Well, it all added up, I guess. My mind, however, is not a normal one. It does not stop thinking about things, even when they have already been resolved, taking into account the ifs and what nots and whens and wheres of the situation. So, at that moment I was trying to figure out an ogre's name, trying to decipher the mystery of the bloody cave, trying to figure out how Shila got here, and trying to cope with my first kill, all at once. Needless to say, my brain could not practice such multitasking, which gave me quite a big headache, of those that you get when you have been studying for hours on end.
I calmed down by pacing, back and forth and forth and back, and diagonally... Basically, I walked through that cave in any way possible. At the same time, I had managed to break it all down. First, I had to figure out the mistery of the cave. I was very close.
The clue was technically a lie, according to the riddle, so the eroded areas on the right path were not true. They probably were carved out to make it seem real, while the left path was left intact and perfect so that someone would find the solution. At last, I thought i figured out what I had to do. My theory was that I should dig up on the area in the left side that is located where the deepest part of the cave on the right side that had been my "hiding spot" should be. However, i decided to wait for Shila to wake up, knowing that she would have something clever to say.
Therefore, I am still waiting, awake, because it is now my guarding time, and I decided to spend it on talking to you, diary.
