Riley and Lucas's POV
Today's the big day! We're getting married and I'm nervous. What if Riley/Lucas doesn't like the way I look. Everyone says I'm being paranoid, but I am just worried. I hope this will all blow over and everything will be find.
??? POV
It was freezing outside. Although it was only October, it was as chilly as late November. She came up to me with a purple scarf around her mouth. "Did you get the details?" she asked in a grim tone.
"Depends. Did you get my money?" I rubbed my hands together, worried I'd get frostbite. She handed me a paper envelope, and I teared it open. Cash stacks were inside, lined up perfectly.
"Five thousand. Now the details?" She was getting impatient. "Wedding today," I flipped through the money. She grabbed the envelope, "You fool! Of course I know when her wedding is, I'm a bridesmaid! The deal is off." I balled my hand in a fist, "That wasn't the deal!"
She turned around and pulled off her scarf, and retied it. "Life isn't fair, bub. Get with the program or else life will," she hissed.
Riley's POV
Maya turned me around and smiled, "You look amazing! Ordering that pad that made your bump smaller really paid off!" My white wedding dress flowed down to my legs and the vail went to my butt.
I was wearing eyeliner, blush, lipstick, mascara, eyebrow pencils, blemish, moisturizer. I didn't recognize myself! My usual frizzy brown hair was combed and curled and fell to my shoulders. My bump was covered up by the pad and dress.
Maya, Ashley Mae, Missy, Ava, Topanga had gone out to the ceremony. The doors opened and my father waited for me with an open arm. "Ready?" He smiled at me. I sighed, "Ready."
Lucas's POV
Riley walked down the aisle, holding Corey's arm. She looked amazingly beautiful, as always. When she got up to the podium she smiled at me. "Dearly beloved. We have gathered here to celebrate the marriage of Riley Lynn Matthews and Lucas James Friar. If anyone objects, speak now or forever hold your peace."
Just then, the door broke down. "I object!" a man wearing a gray hoodie and black jeans shouted. He was Tommy Lee! I blocked Riley from him.
"Riley Lynn Matthews, I have been in love with you since the day we met. I would do anything for you!" Tommy proposed. Riley hid behind my shoulder, "You kidnapped me and drugged me and almost killed and raped me! What kind of love is that!" Tommy sighed, "I was young and in love and foolish." Maya hid behind Farkle holding Ashley Mae, "You got the foolish part right!"
Tommy smiled and pulled out a gun. Screams erupted from the crowd and everyone panicked. Tommy aimed the gun at Maya, "Shut it Hart!" Farkle shouted, "It's Minkus you moron!"
Tommy aimed the gun at me and slowly backed out of the room, "Anyone tells, I'll kill you and rip your shreds! I'll be back for you, Riley. You too, Friar." He ran without firing a bullet, and I stared at Riley. Her usual happy brown eyes were replaced with eyes full of fear.
"Lucas." I nodded and she glanced into my aquamarine eyes, "I'm scared. But, we need to finish the task at hand. So let rap this up, preacher." The preacher continued his speach. We said our vows, traded rings, and cried.
"Do you, Lucas James Friar, take Riley Lynn Matthews as your wife? To love and to hold, through sickness and in health?"
I smiled, "I do."
"Do you, Riley Lynn Matthews, take Lucas James Friar as your husband? To love and to hold, through sickness and in health?"
She smiled at me, "I do."
"Ladies and gentlemen, may I be the first to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Friar. You may now kiss your bride."
Riley and Lucas's POV
Everyone stood up and clapped. We looked into each other's eyes, and kissed. Cheers erupted from the crowd and we both smiled.
Riley's POV
Lucas and I ran out of the chapel as people threw beads and popcorn at us. Every single lady stood behind me, eager to get the bouquet. "One, two three!" I threw the bouquet backwards and I turned to see that my old college friend, Kalia, had caught it.
I hopped into Lucas's car, and they tied the cans to the back. A blue and white, Just Married, sign was plastered to his car. We drove around the neighborhood then went home. We didn't have a party, because our flight to our honeymoon left in an hour. We had called a cat sitter for Midnight.
We were going to Indonesia for the honeymoon. We would stay there for a week, and then come back. I got a text from my editor, Marvin Drake. It read, Hey, Riley. Look, don't take this the wrong way but........I got to drop you. Sorry, but your books aren't creating enough money. Love ya!-Marvin Drake.
I sighed and Lucas looked at me. "Babe, what's wrong?" Lucas pouted. "I lost my job," I sighed. "Why?" I wiped a tear, "Not enough profits." Lucas put his arms around my waist, "We will figure this out, after our honeymoon!" Lucas lifted me up and twirled me around. I laughed and screamed, "Okay, okay! Put me down!" We kissed and continued packing.
"Maylasia Airlines flight #5 to Indonesia leaves in fifteen minutes. All passengers most report to Gate #17," sounded the intercom. Lucas and I had already went through baggage claim and were by Gate #17. It took twenty hours and nine minutes to get to Indonesia. So, we decided to buy lattes and cinnamon buns.
After eating we boarded the flight to Indonesia. We were in Row 6 of the flight. Lucas took the window seat, because that way I could put my head on his shoulder if we get tired.
The flight crew gave their speech and the plane rolled against the runway. The plane lifted and New York got smaller and smaller. The city lights were on and shining brightly. Now I know why New York is the city that never sleeps. Lucas put his arm around me and I laid my head on his shoulder. My eyelids started to close, and I drifted off to sleep.
