Riley's POV
"Is she going to be alright?" Lucas asked. "She'll be fine and out by Wednesday. Try to get some rest," an unfamiliar voice said. "Get some rest? My wife is in the hospital and you want me to get some rest?!" Lucas vented.
"Lucas," I croaked. He turned around and softed, "Riley. Are you okay?" I shrugged, "Depends. What happened?" Lucas sighed, "Basically, one of the babies decided to kick your nerve bundles. But you'll be able to leave on Wednesday. So get some shut eye." I nodded and turned sideways and shut my eyes.
When I opened them, a man wearing a blue hoodie and black jeans was standing there. "Who are you?" I asked. "Riles, you remember me. Right?" he asked. When I shook my head, he got really angry.
He put his hand over my mouth and nose. I screamed and shouted, but it was muffled by his hand. Lucas came in holding a bag of Starbucks. He dropped the bag and threw the guy off of me. The guy glared at Lucas and walked away. All of a sudden, I couldn't breath.
Lucas's POV
Riley's monitor went crazy. "Riley? Riley! Sombody, help!" I shouted out of the room. A doctor came in and pushed me out of the room. They had Riley tied to a breathing mask and they were checking her heartbeat. Scared, I did the one thing I could do Call Farkle.
Farkle's POV
Maya is sleeping on my lap and Ashley Mae was in her bouncer. My phone buzzed and I picked it up. Lucas was calling me. "Hello?" "Farkle are you there?" Lucas's voice was shaky. "Yeah, Lucas. What's up?" I said into the phone. "Farkle, you need to get to the hospital, now," Lucas said. "Why?" I asked.
"Riley's here. Her monitor just went crazy. Please come," Lucas cried. "Oh my gosh. I'll be there right now," I hung up. "Maya, wake up. We need to go to the hospital right now!" I said. Maya got up, wore shoes, got Ashley Mae, and headed towards the car.
Lucas's POV
Maya, Farkle, and Ashley Mae had just arived. "Lucas, what's wrong?" Maya asked. "Riley's monitor went off the charts. And she isn't waking up. She's gone into a coma," I whimpered.
Maya started to cry and Farkle was whimpering.
We all walked to Riley's room and say her. She was pale with blue and red veins popping from her sweaty and pale forehead. The breathing mask was on her mouth and nose and her monitor wasn't beeping like crazy. An HV needle was in her right arm.
Maya was weeping silently on Farkle's shoulder. "Gaga boga," Ashley Mae babbles. I felt a wave of guilt in my gut. Was it my fault she is her, looking as if she's dying. I ran out of the room because I couldn't bear to see Riley like this.
Riley's POV
My spirit was staring at my friends. Being in a coma really changes your perspective on things. "Lucas!" Maya called. Farkle put his hand on her shoulder, "He needs to take this in. Let's leave and come back tomorrow. Ashley Mae is getting restless."
Then it was just me. I looked at my limp body, sitting on the hospital bed. Then, it hit me. I was going to die in here. I remembered all my times with Lucas and grabbed my fist. "No! Riley you can't die on me! Look, we have to stay alive for Lucas. And the babies. So I will wait here for you to be ready," I whispered to my body. Then I felt it, somebody was holding my hand. I turned to see Maya standing there.
"Hey, Riles. Farkle's starting the car, so I thought I'd say goodbye. Please wake up. If your not going to wake for me, wake for Lucas. Peaches, please don't die. I've already lost my father and Josh. Don't make me lose you too," Maya cried.
I tried to take her hand, "Don't worry, Maya. I'm going to stay with you till the death of us." I held up my right hand, "Ring power." Maya took out her ring and placed it on mine, "Ring power."
Lucas's POV
I went to a bar. I couldn't bear to see Riley like that, so I was going to drown my sorrows. It actually works, once you've had a couple of drinks. Riley's condition is slowly faded away from my mind.
Maya's POV
Farkle changed Ashley Mae and is putting her to sleep. My phone started ringing and the contact was the bartender of Club Don't Speak. "Hello?" I said into the phone. "Heya, Maya! Um, your buddy Lucas is here drowning in alcohol. Pick him up," the bartender said. "Yea, bub. I'm so sorry. His wife is in a coma, but I'm coming," I said wiping my forehead.
The drive to the club was five minutes long. There were people who were probably drunk or something. I saw Lucas sitting at the bar drinking a Vodka bottle. "Ranger Rick!" I called. He turned around and walked to me, "Maya. What are you doing here?" I dragged him to my car, "Saving your ass," I said through gritted teeth.
Instead of driving him to my house, I drove straight to the hospital. I grabbed his ear and stomped to Riley's room.
"What are we doing here?" Lucas asked, he wasn't as drunk as I thought he was. "IF YOU KEEP WASTING YOUR LIFE, YOU WILL MISS RILEY! YOU NEED TO CARE ABOUT HER. Don't you care? I've lost so many people in life, I can't lose her. Or you. So stop drinking and start living!" I screamed at him. He sat on the couch crying, "I don't know what to do?" I sat by him and comforted him after texting Farkle to come with Ashley Mae.
Riley's POV
After Maya said that, I went to a white cloud room. "Hello?" I shouted into the cloud room. My dead cousin, Alexandra, walked up to me, "Riley. Do you want to live?" I nodded and she smiled, "You've made your choice."
All of a sudden, light poured from my eyes. I was in yhe hospital, alive. "Lucas?" I whispered. Lucas turned around and his eyes softed. "Riley. I'm so sorry," Lucas whimpered. We hugged each other and I looked at Maya, "I heard everything you said, Maya. Ring power."
