"Sorry, I'm not coming back for a while." Tobias says into the phone. He's decided to stay with me and Audrey until the threat is gone. I hear a sigh in the phone.

Tobias hangs up, and pulls Audrey from my arms. She lights up, grabbing up at his nose. I giggle, and Tobias wiggles his nose. Audrey smiles, pulling her arm down.

"Come on baby girl, let's go get some milk!" Tobias coos, and Audrey makes an excited noise. I laugh, pulling down her formula. Tobias microwaves it, bouncing Audrey lightly.

I smile, but my joy is interrupted by a bang on the door. I jolt up, grabbing Audrey. Tobias sprints to the door, peeking through the peephole. I grip Audrey tight, making sure not to hurt her.

Tobias laughs, leaning back,"It's just the delivery man." I laugh, loosening my grip Audrey smiles, laying her head onto my shoulder.

I smile down to her, and she drools. Tobias opens the door, and he's handed a large box. "Very heavy." He huffs, bringing it to the living room.

I take out Audrey's bottle, heading beside Tobias. He examines it, and finally tears open the top. Audrey darts up, making illegible baby noises.

I hold the bottle to her mouth, and she starts drinking immediately. Audrey is leaned down against my arms as Tobias looks at the contents.

I lean over, looking inside, and end up smiling giddily. It has a gigantic pack 'n' play, about seven outfits in a crate, and a variety of toys. "Who's it from?" I ask.

"I haven't read that yet." Tobias says, turning the box around. I look at the sender. Natalie Prior. I suck in a breath, stepping back. "That's my mother."

Tobias frowns,"Is that so bad? Maybe she's ok." He says, hugging me and Audrey. "Well no duh! I haven't seen my mother in seventeen years!" I yell.

Audrey starts crying, pushing the bottle away. Tobias grabs Audrey, soothing her. I plop down in the chair, rubbing my temple. My mother can't just leave me with a monster and expect me to just forgive her!

Then she goes and sends an apology box and expects it to just all be behind us! "Tobias. We're going on a trip to my mothers house. We will figure this out."

I bring the last bag into the trunk, slamming it. "Are you sure Tris? Is it really that important." Tobias says, setting Audrey into her car seat. I stomp over,"Of course it is! I'm gonna slap that woman for leaving me with a spawn of Satan father!" I say, climbing into the backseat by Audrey.

Tobias sighs, going into the drivers seat. "If you say so." I huff, grabbing a blanket for Audrey. The cool air is going to make it hard to travel, but I'm determined.

I can't believe my mother would leave me. Why would she leave me so scarred and beaten. Why wouldn't she take me with her.

I am snapped from a raging thoughts by the bump of Evelyn's minivan going over the edge of the driveway. I'm sure she won't mind us using it.

I look over at Audrey, and she's out like a light. I smile, placing a blanket over her. She is probably one of the best things in my life right now, and the only thing keeping my mind off my mother.

I still brought the puffs from the care package, and some other baby foods, but that's only because Audrey needs food. I'm still raging mad like a fire against my mother. But hey, take what you can get!

Tobias turns on a lullaby station, and I lay myself across the seat. This is going to be one long trip to California. "Babe? We're doing this in more than one day right?" I say quietly.

I see Tobias nod from the the front seat. The car rumbles a bit as we start getting to the highway, and Audrey stirs. I place her bear, KarKar, in her seat.

Her chubby hands grab it, and she instinctively puts her mouth on the top. I giggle, oh the things a baby can do when they sleep.

I push the middle seats down, propping up my feet. I grab another blanket from the back and snuggle into hit. "Goodnight love." Is the last thing I hear, before my mind goes into a dreamless dark.

I jolt up as we bump a good two feet in the air. "Where are we?" I ask. "Gas station, guess why!" Suddenly my nose is hit with a putrid smell, baby poop. I groan. Undoing the waking Audrey from her seat.

Tobias opens the door, grabbing her, and handing me a fifty. "Go get some drinks, and snacks, and baby toys, for the way there. We aren't stopping for another five hours." He says. I take the money, groaning again, and hop out.

I lock the car behind me, and head inside the doors. Tobias finds the baby changing station, while I go immediately to the drinks. This is not how I imagined finding my mother and slapping her.

The gas station is almost deserted, except for a old man making hot dogs and a crusty, dirty cashier. I shake off the chill I get from these disgusting men, and grab five drinks. Not including the two giant water bottles I grab on my way to the snacks.

It's got to be sort of healthy, so I grab some nuts and jerky(though that's not very healthy) I grab a little bit of sweets, chocolate and such, for treats after a while.

I get other things, like I grab an extra shirt and wisps. I am not going to rot my teeth on this. I also grabbed some batteries and a USB charger in case both our phones die.

Suddenly, somebody grabs my waist. I almost scream, until I see the wide awake Audrey holding my shoulder. "Come on honey, let's pay. I grabbed Audrey's stuff." Tobias says, grabbing some of the stuff from my arms.

I smile, grabbing Audrey while moving all the stuff to the counter. The cashier slowly scans it, placing the contents in old Walmart bags.

"Thank you for shopping here. Have a good day." He says in a monotone voice, handing us the bags. I smile, walking out back to the car.

Tobias loads in the bags, while I strap in Audrey. He trudged back to the drivers seat tiredly. "Tobias? You know I can drive right?" I say, rubbing circles on his back.

He smiles, kissing my forehead. "Thank you baby." I smile back, kissing his lips quickly. "Now go sit by your daughter and we can get going again."

He climbs into the van, grabbing the blanket by Audrey. I climb into the drivers side, readjusting the seat.

Finally, we start the next five hour trip on the way to avenge me.

I know! I haven't updated in forever! (Which is a really long time😝)
