Memories Of Pain

Seika's Pov

Surrounded by nature, we walked on a path. Father had just picked me up from school and we took a detour on the way home. Today we learned how to transform into a human's form. I must say, doing the things I do everyday made me exhausted in that form. I tried turning back into my original form at school, but I wasn't able to get myself back. Now I'm stuck in this miserable form until we get home.

Putting those thoughts aside, I walked alongside my father happily, excited about the place he said he wanted to show me.

"Father." I said with a cheery smile, "Where are you taking me?"

"Oh. It's nowhere special." My father says with a kind grin, "It's where your mother and I first met."

"Then of course it's special daddy!" I exclaim happily as I hold onto the teddy bear my mom got me for my birthday the year before.

"I guess your right." My father says as he smiles back at me, but his smile-it looks like to be full of pain.

We continued on our way as a path of cherry blossom petals are scattered all over the ground. The sun is high above in the sky, shining brighter then I've ever seen it shine before. The sound of nature rings in my ears as the melody of the singing birds calms my sad-stricken soul. This day just seems too perfect to be true.

"...We're here." My father said as I looked up at him, then at the scenery before me.

"Wow..." I said, my eyes widening in astonishment.

We stand on a cliff as the beautiful scenery looks one to be of a fantasy. A beautiful crystal pool of water stood below me. A giant cherry blossom tree stood majestically by itself as its flower's petals were taken away by the wind, falling into the pond. I stared in awe as two swans, one white and one black swan landed on top of the water and swam swimmingly.

"It's beautiful..." I said as I felt tears roll down my cheeks, "...Daddy, I miss mommy."

He takes me into an embrace as he slowly runs his fingers through my hair. "My dear..." He whispers in my ear, "Your mother is still with us. She'll always be alive with us in our memories. As long as you keep those memories, she won't fade away in time."

"Heh." I let out as I smiled at my father. I walk over to the edge of the cliff as I feel a strong breeze whirl around me.

I turn around to see my father trembling.

"F-Father?" I ask, worried about his condition.

"..Ha...ha-hahahahaha..." My father laughs like a psychotic, while looking at me with his now blood red eyes.

I stand still as he walks closer to me. I-I can't move. My legs are frozen in place as I stare at my father wide-eyed.

"SEEIIIIKKKAAA, would you mind do your old daddy a favor?" My father asks with a smirk.

"I-um, father?" I ask. This is not good. Something's wrong with him.

My father stands before me as he puts his hands on my shoulders.

"Father! You're scaring me!" I scream as I stare into his eyes, "Did someone do this to you?! Please! Snap out of this!"

"Without your mother, I'm useless to you now..." My father said as he stood before me. His image is blurry from my tears, but I could very well recognize him from his voice that he seems saddened over all of this. Father...your eyes aren't red anymore.
