Here I am, stuck in a room with Kimura Seo, unable to figure out what to do with her. She glares at me from the corner of the room where I have confined her. I sit cross legged across the room from her, brainstorming ways to resolve this conflict.

"Look," I sigh, then proceed to say, "I just need you to give me a day. One more day and I'll do whatever you ask of me."

"You know what Seika, I could honestly care less about this celebration." Kimura smirks and speaks callously, "Just know this. After the festivities are over, you'll regret this."

"...I'm sorry. All I have ever done is cause you trouble." I lower my head and fidget around my with fingers.

Kimura's face becomes flushed and her body tenses before she explodes into a full rage. "Well you know what Seika? FUCK YOU! Do you honestly think that saying sorry is going to magically make everything better? Act like a grown up for once take responsibility for your actions!"

"....." I am speechless. That's the first time I've ever heard Kimura curse me out in such a way.

"You are an ayakashi for crying out loud! Stop avoiding your problems by continuously running away from them! Accept the fact that you are who you are and there's nothing that will change that!" Kimura's loud screaming begins to simmer down until she once again speaks in her usual cool, composed manner, "Daichi and I...didn't raise you to be such a wimp."

Kimura looks away, biting her lower lip. She chuckles to herself before saying, "You really are a cursed child...and yet, Daichi still loved you nonetheless. He was infertile, but always dreamt of having a child. When I met you at the shop...I realized that you had the same look in your eyes as him. Little did I know you'd end up being at the very same orphanage I planned on making an adoption at."

My lips part open, but no words come out. I hesitate to speak, unable to find the right words to say.

"You still have the same eyes as him, but now they're much sharper. You've lost the child in you that you once had. That innocence is irreplaceable and priceless." Kimura half-smiles and laughs, "Such a disappointment you turned out to be Seika. You've let us down."

"I-" Before I can speak, Kimura cuts me off and says,

"Get me out of these ropes and finish what you started."

"And what will you do once I let you go?" I inquire.

A strand of hair from her now messy bun covers her face. She blows it away and says, "I'm leaving this place. The stench of ayakashi is driving me mad."

Bewildered I ask, "Where to?"

"Who knows." Kimura shrugs, bare of amusement, "All I know is that I'm done with you. I'm giving you full ownership of the house but from this day on, you will no longer be working at Sao industries. I'll write your resignation first thing tomorrow morning."

"...You can't be serious, Kimura." I can't believe this is happening.

"When have I ever lied to you?" Kimura inquires.

"Never." I answer, "You have never lied to me."

"Exactly." Kimura says frankly before firmly commanding, "Now, untie me and I'll be on my way."

I sigh. Giving into her to demands, I release her from her bonds. She stands up and grabs her purse from the ground before proceeding to tidy herself up.

"It's such a shame that we'll be parting ways on the anniversary of your adoption." Kimura opens up her purse and takes out an envelope. "It's a letter from Dachi. He told me to give it to you at your high school graduation. I didn't have the guts to do so. So here. Take it."

I take the envelope from Kimura. "It's a little late, but hey, better late than never I suppose." Kimura smiles wryly and turns the door knob, "I'll send you the official paperwork for the house once I get that settled. This is goodbye, Seika." She takes one last glance at my bewildered expression before closing the door behind her.

What in the world just happened? That was all way too fast. One minute she was screaming at me, the other she was talking about Daichi, and before I could process all of it, she left.

Does she really hate me this much? She gave up the house she so cherished just so she'd never have to see my face again. What I don't understand is, why she didn't just kick me out into the street. It's her house so I'd have no right to claim it.

I turn off the room's light and make my way back to the party.

"Seika." I hear a familiar voice call my name. I turn around to see that it's Miyabi. "Where have you been all this time? And what about Kimura? I heard from Shinra that she's here."

"Oh she just left." I exclaim, "Have things been going smoothly here?"

"For the moment, yes."

"Okay that's good to hear." I reply in relief, "And Ryota?"

"He should be somewhere around here. He went looking for you."

"Okay. Thanks." I proceed to part ways Miyabi but am stopped by his hand grabbing ahold my wrist. "Miyabi?"

"I'm not finished talking." Miyabi says while pulling me closer to him.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Let me give Ryota the father's gift."

"We already spoke about this." I try to nudge my arm away from his grip, "Chikage is the one best suited for this task. It doesn't matter what you say. I'm not changing my mind."

"Seika, just hear me out."

"I already did." I say sternly, "Now let me go."

"I refuse to." Miyabi's grip tightens on my arm.

"Let my hand go before I have to use force." I am not going to put up with him pushing me around. If push comes to shove, I will use my power on him.

"Seika. Why do you have to make so damn jealous?" Miyabi moans.

"Miyabi, what-" Before I know it, his lips are pressed against mine.

MIYABI!

His lips part mine and he proceeds to say, "I won't let anyone have you. Devil or not, I don't care."

"Miyabi, that's enough." I place my hand on his and remove my his grasp from my arm, "Excuse me. I need to prepare for the mother's dance."

With those final words, I left a perplexed Miyabi behind.

I place my left hand on my lips and smile wryly, "Fireworks, huh?"

.................................................
Hey guys. It's so good to finally be back! I've been gone from Wattpad for half a year now and wow, have things really changed. It's hard to believe that so much time has passed since then, but there were other priorities in my life that I had to take care of.

For those of you that are still here, thank you all for being patient with this update. It's not much but I will get back to updating more frequently.

Thanks for reading! ^•^
