Chapter 28) Perfect Days

What a strange baby boy? A beautiful baby but a strange one, He has deep brown eyes arnt babies meant to have blue eyes? Ill have to research it later on.

I walked back to the car, Its around 9pm. I cant believe theyve called him Charlie, Thats such a nice thing, Now my father shall live on for many more years, I remember the last time I saw him...

**FLASHBACK **

I was walking down the street after school with my father. The gentle breeze made it all seem like I was really here, like when I was 14.

I knew that dad was going to say something but also knew he didn't know how to say it.

His brown eyes matched mine perfectly but his hair was a few shades darker than mine.

He slowed down a bit to match his pace to mine so I wouldn't have to run. That's just the kind of guy he was.

I loved him for it.

"Kara, you need to know something." My dad's voice was deep, sensual and had the definite edge that made him a perfect father. "One day, something will happen, and that something will change your life forever. You will not only become something special, but you will become something truly needed by everyone in the pack."

"What is it? What will I become?" He just looked at me . I thought that he was going to yell at me because he knew I knew what he was talking about, but instead he gave me a smile. A smile full of joy and compassion.

He reached out to me, stopping us on the sidewalk to look me in the eyes and when he placed his hands on either side of my head, he said, "A lot of things, Kara. You will become beautiful, more beautiful than you could ever imagine. And trustworthy, for lots of people in many different places will trust you to carry their messages. But most importantly, you will become a bird. A majestic bird which will show your true worth and ability."

He stood like that for only a moment more before he kissed the top of my head, and said goodbye.

At that, he walked away a couple of steps, changed into his bird and flew away. When the sun chose to grace his midnight black feathers the result was a blue-ish sheen to the majestic bird known as one thing.

My father.

Little did I know that that would be the last time he would change into his bird, the last time he would kiss my head the way he used to and the last time I would ever see him again.

But before my father disappeared forever into the sunset, he turned around and beat his wings three times to signify I love you.

***END FLASHBACK***

I have a feeling now that my dad knew that straight after Jeremy was going to pick a fight with him.

Tears roll down my face just thinking about that, I remember he was the alpha before Ryan, Dont ask me how a bird could be aplha but he was, When he died I asked Ryan that question and he just said because he was a very very strong man, Some strong man If Jeremy killed him?!

I got to my drive thinking how people have changed, Jake has changed since he first came here, When he first came here he came across as a player with his lip ring [A/N Remember Chapter4?] I laugh when I remember him as the player he originally was.

No-one can wreck this day, I just saw a baby being brought into this world, And that baby was my brother.

I turn the car off and lock up the car too, I open the door and see all the pack in the front room eating pizza joking and laughing.

"Whats happening here?" I asked confused.

"Were just having a get together, Happy now that Jeremy's out of the pack!" Ryan laughed.

"Oh what about the hunters? and the dead bodies?" I asked confused again.

"The hunters have delayed there vist, They think it wont matter what day they come because the animal will still be here!" He laughed again.

"Ok then, Any pizza left?" I asked Jake who was spread across one of the couch's.

"Here I saved you three peices!" He laughed.

I ran and jumped on him, Both of us laughing for the first time in ages. I had a huge smile on my face as I told Jake about everything that has just happened.

"Umm Jake why dont you go put your lip ring in, so you seem like a naughty boy tonight?" I said laughing.

He laughed and ran upstairs and poked his head around the corner of the living room door, He mouthed come upstairs with me and lets just say we spent the rest of the night in our bedroom.

I woke up slowly, almost as if I was still in a dream, and looked up at Jake's sleeping face. I admired his features for a few moments and pulled myself away when I caught myself staring.

I allowed myself one more glance before gently placing my head back home on Jake's chest, and listened to the steady rhythm of his heart.

When I closed my eyes, I felt a flutter of movement in my womb before I let the tendrils of sleep embrace me once more.

For once in my life this day has been sorta perfect..
