{quick note: if you can, listen to Fun by Troye Sivan. I tried attaching it to this story but the only ones they had were speed up and didn't really match the kind of tone I was going for}

Stiles pov:
Tap. Tap.
"Go awayyyy." I grumble, eyes still closed as I shift on my bed.
TAP. TAP.
The knocking got louder and sit up, rubbing sleep from my eyes.
"If you must, come in." My voice is groggy from sleep.

I jump when the window opens because I expect the door to instead.
"Lydia?" I ask as the strawberry blonde steps into the room, her eyes glued on me.
"Get dressed, come on." She whispers and I get up from my bed.

"What the hell? It's still dark out." I point to the sky, walking to my closet. She shrugs as if it's no big deal, as if she wakes up in the middle of the night all the time.I quickly throw on some jeans and a t-shirt yawning the whole time.
"Take your skateboard." Lydia points to the board in the corner of my room. I grab it quickly before following her out the window, into the dark.

She easily jumps the gap between our roofs, slipping into her room and I do the same. She turns off a single lamp on her desk before walking out of her room and of course I follow. Where the hell was she taking me?

Eventually we make it outside and Lydia picks up a skateboard from her yard I just now notice. She puts it down on the sidewalk, skating down the street and I do the same.
"What are we doing?" I ask and Lydia glances back at me, smiling and my body gets chills.
"The world is asleep. You have to be quiet." She states.

I cock my head, confused. Lydia was definitely different, closing her eyes in the peacefulness of the early morning. Her reddish locks flowing behind her along with a red flannel and I laugh, noticing that the flannel was in fact mine. It was a little big on her and she cuffed up the sleeves a bit but it kind of suited her.

We skated to what I assumed was down town, the sun barely peeking over the horizon.  The atmosphere was calm and Lydia takes a slight right turn, going down a hill to a hidden empty parking lot. She jumps off her board, turning to watch my reaction and I grin.

"I like your flannel." I say, finally speaking.
"Thanks. I stole it off of your floor this morning." She smiles and I chuckle.

" I've never really had a father figure before. Nothing close at least." Lydia explains, the sun almost fully visible by now. We sat on our boards scooting back and forth while one of us talked.
"Yeah... My Aunt has always kind of been my mother. She had Jesse and it was kind of like our makeshift little family." I pick up a small pebble and chuck it.

"Have they ever thought of getting married?" Lydia asks. I sigh, rolling past her and back again.
"I guess. I mean, it's always been an option but it'd be odd. Emma is my moms sister, you know? There's always that pressure to live up to my mom, even if I barely remember her." I explain. Lydia nods, finally meeting my eyes.

She glances down at my cheek, averting the bruise I know is probably there.
"He used to have a drinking problem." I scoot over to where she sits on her board.
"What?" She tries to act confused and I roll my eyes. She pushes back, skating away from me a good twelve feet.
"My dad. Every now and then he gets stressed and... tips the bottle again." I shrug as if it's no big deal. "I get pissed at him but eventually I forgive and he'll make it up to me." I glance down at the ground.

Suddenly, her board crashes into mine and Lydia lets out a shriek before landing on top of me. We both laugh a little but eventually silence falls over both of us, the only sound is of our breathing.
I glance to her lips before reconnecting my eyes with hers. "I really want to kiss you right now." I whisper, the words surprising even myself.

She grins. "Maybe later." Her voice is soft and silent and I smile back.
"JUST MAKE OUT ALREADY!" Our heads snap over to the direction of Allison's voice and Lydia quickly climbs off of me. She stands, helping me up as I brush myself off while Scott and Allison join us from across the parking lot.

"Coffee?" Allison asks and I take one from the two in her hand, drinking some of it to avoid conversation.
"What are you doing here?" Lydia asks, taking a cup from Scott.
"It wasn't that hard to find you. You always come out here." Scott shrugs. "We just didn't expect lover boy to be with you." Allison smirks.

I wriggle my nose to get rid of an itch. I'd known Lydia a little more than I knew Allison and Scott so talking to them was still kind of an iffy situation.
"L-lover boy?" I stutter, rolling my eyes. "CRAP!" I exclaim before mentally scolding myself like usual.

Allison takes a sip of her coffee, waving her arms about as she lays out a scene with her explanation. "Okay. So I have this theory that you two have some sort of mythical connection or something, almost as if you're soulmates so if one of you dies, the other dies of heartbreak." Allison finishes and we stare at her in disbelief.

"How does that make Stiles 'lover boy'?" Scott asks.
Allison shrugs. "Shut up! It makes sense in my head!" She playfully punches Scott in the arm and we all chuckle.

After finishing our coffees and conversing a little, Scott drives us home. My hand is on the front door knob when Lydia's voice stops me.
"Hey." She calls out and I turn to her. "That kissing thing...did you really mean it?" She asks.

I chuckle, my gaze meeting the ground and I bite my bottom lip before looking back to her.
"That's for you to decide, isn't it?" I tease, stepping through the front door of my house. Almost immediately I get attacked, Auntie Em enveloping me in a hug.

"Where have you been?" My dad asks softly, surprising me because I thought he'd be enraged. Emma pulls away from me, smiling while fixing my hair and I roll my eyes.
"Lydia took me downtown to go skateboarding." I explain.
"See! I told you: his skateboard wasn't in his room so he was out exploring or something." Aunt Emma explains to my father.

She turns back to me, smiling but the expression leaves her face as she notices my cheek.
"What's this?" She asks, rubbing the skin. I pull away from her touch, my body going numb. I glance over her shoulder at my dad and he seems a little disappointed in himself. He should be.
"It's nothing. promise." I lie.
