Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Chapter 4

"Tobin had a lot of bleeding in the brain we got her stable but she is in a coma and I'm not sure how long it is going to be for her to wake up it could be hours or it could be months." The doctor explains calmly to the group.

Alex get up and takes of running not know where she was going but that all that she could do was run

~The Next Day~

Ashlyn and Ali are sitting around in Tobin's hospital room just wishing she would wake up.

"Al I don't know what I'm going to do if she doesn't wake up. I can't loss her Al. She is the only person that knows everything I have been through and knows everything that has happen and she wouldn't dare tell a person" Ashlyn say as tears start rolling down her face.

"Babe she's going to wake up I don't know when but she will Tobin is a fighter and she will never give up" Ali says trying to comfort Ashlyn.

"You should go try and find Alex she need to be here when she wakes up." Ashlyn says.

"Okay I will be back and hopefully with Alex I will bring you some food back with me too." Ali explains to Ashlyn

"No I don't want food." She responds forcefully.

"Ash you have to eat." Ali tells her sternly

"Fine just bring me something little I don't know how much I can eat."

~Tobin's Dreams~

I'm on the beach with this beautiful girl and I don't know how it is but she has these amazing eyes and beautiful long brown hair. Everything I could ever want in a girl and we a laying there having a picnic and I can't make out her face it like she's there but I don't know her. It is killing me not knowing who it is I just want I take her and go everywhere with her. It's like we are meant to be together.

Then everything goes black and I all of the sudden can't breathe and I'm drowning and I can't move.

~End of dreams~

Tobin's heart rate speeds up on the screen and Ashlyn stands up quickly and runs down the hall to get a nurse. They come back in the room and she is breathing normal.

Alex's POV:

Finding out Tobin was I a coma because of me scared me half to death. I don't know what to do or say to Ashlyn, because I know she is blaming me on the inside.

I'm sitting on the beach watching the sun rise hoping I can get some answers an thing I just need something to help me push through this. I can't help but think about what could be if that accident hadn't happened I'm never going to be able to make this up to Tobin.

My phone goes of and its Ali

Ali: where in the hell are you

Alex: sitting on the beach thinking. Why?

Ali: I have been looking everywhere for you Ashlyn wants you to be there when Tobin wakes up

Alex: I don't know I need sometime to think

Ali: Alex this isn't your fault shit happens and if  it was you in that hospital bed Tobin would be right there.

Alex: I just need sometime okay I need to think okay just please Ali I will be there when I get the nerve to. Okay?

Ali: I'm sorry Alex my bad.

Alex slams her phone down and wraps her arms around her knees and and starts you cry i just need time is what is going through her head and she slowly falls to sleep

~Alex's dream~

She wakes up on the beach and the sun is setting and she hear a familiar voice it was Tobin. She jumps and runs to her

Toby I thought I lost you I will never leave your side I need you

And the two of them walk of into the sunset.

~end of dream~

I slowly wake up and grab my phone and take of running I go to the flower shop and buy flowers, a card, and balloons. I caught a cab and head to the hospital. I run to the elevator and get on to go to Tobin's room when a girl steps in to the elevator that looks just like Tobin and apparently I was staring.

"Can I help you," she asked.

"Oh you just look like this girl that I know." I respond nervously.

"You're Alex aren't you," she questions.

"Yeah how did you know that." I asked very confused.

"Oh I'm Tobin's sister Katie," she smiles.

"Oh I didn't know she had a sister, but that doesn't explain how you know me?" I say still confused.

"Ali and Ashlyn have been talking about you constantly," she responds

We ride up the elevator until we get on the the level Tobin is on, we walk to her room.

"Look who I found in the elevator on the way up." she announces to the whole group.

"Alex" Ashlyn says excitedly as she get up and gives her a hug.

"Hey can I have a moment alone with Tobin y'all." I ask nervously.

"Yeah totally!" Katie says as she clears the room out and shuts the door.

I walk over a sit down beside Tobin.

"Hey Toby I brought you some presents for when you walk up. I wish this would have never happened and I'm sorry the only reason you were running down the hall was because of me and I'm sorry. I should have been here earlier but I was scared, but now I'm here that's all that matters right. Tobin and I just want you to know that as soon as you get better I would love to go sit seeing." I tell her as tear run down my face and I hold on to her hand. I lend forward and place my lips on her forehead.

"That a deal" Tobin mumbles as she opens her eyes.
