Lucifer- It had been a week since you were last at the park with Hades. You had been too busy to take him there. You decided to go tonight to see if you would meet that nice man you met last time. You walked out of the house with Hades and walked to the park. It was strange since no one was on the street and there hadn't been anyone on the street with you since you had met Lucifer in the park.
When you got to the park, there was no one there. You let Hades off of his leash to play Frisbee with him. You continued to play with Hades. After a while, you looked at your watch and saw that it was nearly 9 o'clock. You called Hades over, put him back on his leash, and started to walk home with him. Lucifer hadn't shown up like you were expecting him to.
As you were walking home along the sidewalk, you noticed that the streetlights were out. They had been working when you had gone to the park but you didn't really mind that they were out. You still knew where you were going.
Hades was walking along beside you when he suddenly stopped. You were surprised since he was very well trained and wouldn't stop unless told to. As you were trying to get him to continue walking, you could barely make out someone walking towards you from the direction you were heading. You were just wondering if that was why Hades had stopped when he sniffed at the air and started growling.
You were even more surprised at this. Hades just usually glared at other people, he didn't usually growl. As the person came closer to you, Hades became even more vocal. His growling soon reached a noise level that made you become afraid. You had never heard Hades growl that loud before, and you had raised him from a pup.
You were wondering who could possibly make him growl so much and when you stood up and turned to see how close the person was, shivers ran down your spine. The person was simply no longer there. He or she had disappeared. It made you very nervous. You turned to look back at Hades and saw that his hackles were raised and he was straining to move forward now. It seemed like he was trying to see or reach something. It took all of your strength just to hold him back, and that was with him not wanting to bowl you over.
You turned to see who he was trying so hard to reach and you gasped. There was a man standing there and he looked very menacing. He grabbed your arm before you could run and threw you against the wall of the building next to you. You felt this blinding pain shoot up your spine as you connected with the wall.
The man smiled sadistically at you and his eyes glowed red in the darkness. You started to freak out, which you never did. This man was creepy and from the look in his eyes, you knew that he was going to kill you. The man slowly put his hand against your throat and slowly slid you up the wall until your feet no longer touched the ground. You clawed at his hand with your nails and made him bleed but he just smiled bigger at you.
The man leaned in closer to you, so close his lips were against your ear. "You're pretty baby. Too bad you have to die."
Just then you heard Hades rush towards the man. You heard bone snap as Hades bit down on the man's leg. The man let out an expletive. He turned to kick Hades but just as he moved his leg, his face glowed orange and he collapsed. As a result, you fell to the ground and your knees buckled under you. You never hit the ground though. Strong arms wrapped around you and caught you before you hit the ground. It was too dark to see the newcomer's face but you had a nagging thought in the back of your mind.
"Lucifer," you whispered.
Suddenly the streetlight above you came on and you could see the man's face. It was his way of telling you that it was him, Lucifer.
The man nodded. "Nice to see you again, (Y/N)."
You smiled. "I wish it was under different circumstances."
