------—–----------------------------------------------------
When I was little, Ryu and I were the best of friends. We would play at the park together until the sun had set and our mother would call us to come home. We'd make up these crazy games that, if we played them when we got older, would make us seem like we were on drugs. But all that happiness ended when he made me angry one day. I didn't know what to do or say, so I did the only thing I could do: I bit him. I didn't know any better; I thought it was just a harmless bite. I didn't know that it would be the worst day of my life, that I'd be separated from my best friend. I spent years regretting everything, because not only did I hurt him, he covered for me. Said someone else bit him. And I couldn't stop feeling ever so guilty whenever I thought about it.

Now, he's giving me that same big grin that he did when we were five, and I can't help but return it. He motions for me to come to him by reaching out to me. I watch as another girl walks into his arms because she thinks its for her, but he pushes her away and nods at me. I can't hold my self back anymore. I run towards him with tears threatening to spill over. When I'm within arms reach, his arms circle around me and he buries his face in my shoulder. He lifts me off the ground and spins me around.

"What are you doing here," Ryu asks, setting me down, but keeping his hands on my waists.

"Mom said it would be safer here than out there," I explain. He looks puzzled by this information, but I tell him I'll explain it all later. "How've you been?"

"I've been great, considering the setting. How about you," He inquires.

"Other than getting attacked by a group of rogue infected, I've been swell," I say, smiling. He turns serious.

"What?! You were what," He interrogates. I tell him they weren't able to do anything and he sighs with relief, pulling me back to him. "I don't know what I would do if anything happened to you."

"You know that's impossible," I say.

"I sure do. How could I not," He asks. Memory of that day comes back and I'm stricken with agony.

"I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry," I apologize.

"It's ok. You didn't know any better." He pulls back and caresses my cheek. I pull back a little bit.

"No, it's not. You were separated from your family because of me. It's all my fault you're in here." I look down, unable to glance into his eyes. Ryu places his thumb and pointer finger under my chin and lifts my head up, forcing me to look at him.

"It was my choice, whether you want to believe it or not. None of this is your fault."

"But-" He puts his finger on my lips.

"No buts. I did this. Not you. Me," He says. I sigh, letting my shoulders sag. "If you try to tell me otherwise, I will put you in a chokehold." I smirk at him.

"You know you can't succeed in doing that. You never could and it made you so mad, remember? You'd be crying until I let you put me in a chokehold," I say, laughing. He gasps, staring at me in "shock".

"You don't think I can do it," he says. I shake my head no and all of a sudden, he's trying to get his arm around my neck. I duck out of it and smirk at him. He grins back at me, challenge evident in his eyes. His eyes are locked on his prey, and he's not going to let it out of his sight.

"Since when did you associate yourself with models?! Who's he," Lilly asks me. I don't have time to answer her, though, because Ryu is coming this way. I squeal and side step him. He doesn't waste any time in turning around to attack. I manage to slip his grip again and retreat. He steps closer and charges again, and, by the way we're moving, you'd think we were doing some type of foreign dance.

Soon, he's breathing heavily with his hands on his knees, though his eyes never leave me. I'm breathing heavily, too, though not as much as he is. I smile at him, cocking my head to the side.

"Have you had enough yet," I call.

"No way in hell," He replies.

"You're as determined as ever. I'm glad that hasn't changed. But let's see if you can break your losing streak," I say, provoking him. Before he has a chance to act, one of the guards swing his baton out in front of Ryu, while two guards do the same to me. "Oh come on, we were just playing. What's the harm in that?"

"No horse-playing in the court," is all I get in response. I grunt and push their batons out of the way.

"All right. Don't see why that rule is in place, but it's whatever," I sigh. The other guard withdraws, and they disappear in the same manner that they appeared, leaving no evidence that they were even here. I walk over to him and run my hands through his hair. "I told you that you wouldn't win."

"Shut up. I will get you someday," He claims. I roll my eyes and giggle. Everything's great until a certain someone walks in the court with his head held high. His light blue eyes land on me and my smile instantly turns into a frown.
