"Lilly, for the last time, I have no idea," I tell her.
"I'm just trying to figure everything out here," she says.
"Meanwhile I have to figure out how to face him," I mutter. Then it hits me. "Oh god, Lilly, how am I supposed to act? What if he acts like everything's normal?"
"You're gonna have to figure it out because he's coming," she says. I gasp and am about to turn around when a pair of arms wrap around my waist.
"Hey, beautiful," Ryu greets in my ear. A slight blush rises to my cheeks.
"Hi," I return, grinning. I look to my left to see that same girl who warned me to stay away from him earlier. She's giving me the evil eye. "Excuse me for one moment." I walk up to her.
"I told you he was waiting for someone," she hisses.
"And you expect that the girl he is waiting for is you," I ask, crossing my arms.
"I know it is so back. Off," she demands. I roll my eyes.
"Ok, one, I'm not the one who hugged him, he hugged me," I inform her. "And two, if the girl he wanted to go out with is you, I'm pretty sure it would have already happened. Besides, I know him better than anyone here. So how about you back off?"
"Ryu," she calls. He raises his eyebrows in response. "Is she the girl you've been waiting for?" Instead of answering verbally, he walks over to me and plants a kiss on my lips. I gasp in surprise again before kissing him back.
We kiss for a few seconds more before he pulls away and says, "Does that answer your question?" She just gapes at us in disbelief. Tears fill her eyes and she turns, sprinting down the hallway.
"What," I start to ask, but he shushes me and his lips are in mine once more. I lean into him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"You're mine, in case you were wondering," he says. My face is red and I duck my head. He chuckles and snakes his arm around my waist. "Come on. It's almost time for class."
"Class?" I look up at him.
"Yeah. Basically it's just a school for freaks," he enlightens me. I give a nod of understanding before Lilly interrupts both of us.
"Alright you two love birds. If you don't hurry, then we're going to be late for this so called school," she complains. I stick my tongue out at her and she hisses at me.
"Don't bare your fangs at me," I demand. We're walking down the hallway when I feel the air surrounding us change, and my playful mood turns into a worried one. "Something's wrong."
"What happened," Ryu asks, suddenly worried about my well being.
"I feel find. The air doesn't feel right," I tell him. "Like something bad is about to happen." Just then, it got worse. "Something is really wrong. Is there another way to get to the classroom?"
"Yes, but if we take that way, we'll most likely be late, and there is also a high chance that we could get in trouble," Ryu informs.
"Can we take that way," I ask.
"Are you crazy," he asks.
"Let's just do it. Usually when she gets like this, she's right," Lilly advises. He sighs in defeat and turns around. He takes my hand and leads us in the other direction.
After about five minutes of walking, he turns to me and asks me if I feel any better.
"It's better, but it's not completely gone. Let's just keep going," I say. "You might want to speed it up a little."
"Alright," they both sigh in unison.
*few minutes later*
We're sitting in what's supposed to be history class. The teacher drones on and on about world war 2—something that I already learned in 10th grade–—so I'm falling asleep in the back when the teacher slams his hands on the table.
"IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP IN MY CLASS THEN YOU CAN GET OUT," he shouts, causing me to jolt. I hold my hands up and get up from my seat. Ryu chuckles as I make my way to the door; I grab the nearest object and beam it at him. He ducks but no fast enough and the eraser hits him on the top of his head. I stick my tongue out before leaving.
As soon as the door shuts, I hear a unison of clicks. I turn around to see the teacher standing in the doorway.
"If you can survive this, I'll let you back in and you can sleep all you want," he says, smiling at me. What? That is so confusing, I think. Just then, a voice sounds over the speakers.
"Welcome to survival of the fittest. For those of you who made it to class in time, I give you a round of applause. But for those of you who didn't, well...you're stuck out here. Whoever comes out unscathed gets to go back to class with out any consequences. That is, if they're still alive," the voice says. What did he mean by that?!?! I hear a click and a loud growl echo through the hallways. "Let the games begin!"
