The fallen star

Chapter 1: the ice maker

In front of him stood a boulder and wedged in the top was the sword of legend, the one he needed to prove to himself, to his family and friends that he could be a leader, Arthur struggled to pull the sword free from the massive stone, but with each pull, the sword became loser until he wrenched it free and was able to lift it skyward, he exclaimed " I am the rightful heir to the throne of England, I shall rule with Excalibur by my side!" However at that exact moment a blast of air came flying at silver knocking the book from his hands and throwing him from the chair and tumble onto the ground, he quickly looked around the library for the villain who dared ruin his reading time, his gaze settled on a dark figure that was slightly smaller than him step from the shadows.

"Not funny Seraph" silver slowly rose from the floor, patting his grey hair down into its flat, original form and checking that his black gloves were still attached by string to his rucksack, the green haired villain laughed at Silver's fall "if you didn't get lost in those mythical and mystical worlds that you absorb yourself into, then I wouldent have to get you to notice me when I walk into the room" Silver glared at Seraph looking him up and down, trying to find an opening to freeze apart of him. " maybe, but the book series is amazing, it's about a parallel universe where their history is entirely different from our own, I mean, can you imagine what that must feel like." Seraph yawns and flicks Silvers grey wolf ears. "Well Wolfy boy, I'm your friend and lesson is about to start, so all bets were off as I needed to get your attention" he then precedes to run out the room before Silver can retort. " bird brain!, just because you can't appreciate good literature"

After a few minutes of frantic running down various corridors and skilfully dodging other students who are going on about their daily lives, Silver reached his classroom and took his seat. "Looks like they aren't getting the other one fixed after the water incident, poor water mage" the room was small with ten rows of chairs going from the back towards a small makeshift stage at the front, prepared for the lesson to begin "got your showcase ready Silver?" A black haired girl slipped from her seat behind and left of Silver to his immediate left, as Silver looked over to his friend he noticed she had her hair tied back in a ponytail and was wearing a single bronze earring in her right ear "not really, thought I would just wing it with whatever I can think of, I assume you'll be doing the same Gaia?"

"You know me so well Silver, have you been following me recently" Gaia smiles sincerely and winks at Silver causing him to blush faintly "you know, I never have any silver earrings, because you're the only bit of silver I need" Silver immediately goes red and looks at the floor whilst Gaia giggles "it's fun to flirt with you, I always get the reaction I want" the teacher finally enters the room and takes his place in the the centre of the stage facing towards the room full of students "I'll make this short, a student will come up and display his or her preferred magic, whether it's fire, water, electricity to nature. This shows their mastery over the element, now! First up will be" he points towards the class and slowly moves his arm around until it lands on a certain grey haired individual who is currently studying the floor "Silver... Come on down and claim your prize of going first"

Silver quickly moves towards the stage as the teacher sits down on an empty chair in the front row, Silver regains his balance as he clambers onstage and stands directly in the middle, placing his hands in front of him, palms facing the floor "be calm, let the ice and mana flow freely through your body" he looks up at the ceiling and let's out a small cry "glacies!" A small podium is formed in front of him depicting several animals on it, "motus!" The animals leap, off the podium one at a time and line up at the front of the stage and they begin to melt into water "duratus!" The water starts freezing again and changes to an ice sculpture of a horse, which stands on its hind legs and let's out its signature neigh as it shatters into tiny ice crystals and gets abosorbed by Silver to refill his mana supply.

"that was a great display Silver, the only improvement I will suggest is that you learn to speak with your mind, otherwise people will know what you're attempting to do before the action takes place, for example when you said glacies, focus on the image of ice and think of pure ice, it creates a more powerful version" Silver nods and takes his seat, nearly collapsing from exhaustion as the next student takes their place on stage, the day continues with other students trying to master their element by showing off: fire wolves, water dragonflies and an electric snake that the teacher found very shocking, as the last student took their place in stage a small voice went through Silvers mind "please... Save me" Silver looks around but everyone was focusing on the student with bright red hair.

"Please, why won't you... Help me" as Silver looked around the room, he noticed he was losing the feeling in his legs and fell to the floor, unable to stand, his breathing became heavy, he was slowly losing consciousness but he heard a faint cry coming from Gaia "Silver! Someone get the nurse" as Silver was lifted by a group of students he lost the battle against the darkness and fell unconscious the only thing he could hear was a girl's voice on repeat, only saying "save me"
