The fallen star

Chapter 5: Hunted

Silver steps through the oak doors and stares at the illuminated city "we may live underground, but we have a constant supply of food and water, thanks to the Lord of earth" the city spans several miles until it reaches a wall which runs up over the city and comes back down on the other side. "so you're cut off from the surface world" yes and no, we can leave when we want, but our knowledge of this place leaves us" the elder walks down the stairs, followed by Silver "the lord of earth" "our guardian.." the elder is cut off as a women's scream is heard in the distance, Silver's ears pick up and he suddenly sprints off towards the screaming. "Wait don't" the elder cry's out as he watches Silver run off, his eyes glow red for a second "stupid kid, you're going to ruin everything"

As Silver runs through the deserted alleyways he notices a flash of bronze ahead of him, as he reaches the location of the scream he sees two men in red cloaks, which cover all of them, tying up a women dressed in a blue dress with a red hairband going across her long black hair. "What are you doing!" he shouts at them. They turn to look at him "well... this creature here, thought it would be funny to reveal our plans to the surface world" "your plans?" "yes, to kidnap and change everyone.." he then gets hit by his accomplice "don't tell him the plan dimwit" "I won't let you do this" Silver places his hands together and draws them apart quickly forming an ice staff and spins it so it points directly at them.

"Bothersome child" one of them dashes forwards only to get hit by the staff and flung into the wall, the other one takes out a dagger and charges holding it forwards, as he charges, the dagger is swung up at the ice staff, which slips out of his hands and flings it into the air. "Calida" the staff melts as it travels upwards "frigore" the water stream suddenly freezes and turns into a hail of ice buffeting the attacker, forcing him onto the ground. Silver walks over to the women and helps her up "did they hurt you?" "No, they had just found me when you arrived" as she looks up, Silver notices her red eyes and the small feathers that curve around her face "you're a hybrid, aren't you?" "Yes, although I must now lea..." a small trickle of blood escapes from her mouth and drips onto the ground.

They both look down to see a red tipped spear cutting through the women, a small amount of blood flooding onto the ground as she slumps forwards and hits the floor. Silver looks up he notices a figure wearing black armour and holding a red and yellow spear pointing directly at him "hybrids must be eliminated, although I never expected to see your son here. Lucky for me, I can now cleanse your bloodline". Silver instinctively creates an ice shield and blocks the spears incoming attack, the ice breaks and moves around Silver creating a set of armour.

As the attacker thrusts the spear towards Silver repeatedly, he moves the armour around him to block the incoming attacks, thinking "at this rate I won't have a chance to form a weapon, I have to run" "your only option is to run, but I don't think I'll let you" he proceeds to split the spear in half, creating two short spears. "I am a descendent of Gilgamesh, I cannot be beaten be mere mortals, never mind a creature such as yourself" the figure attacks with both spears, glancing off the armour but the spears manage to cut Silvers arms, causing him to fall back.

As a spear crashes down he rolls out the way as it manages to get stuck in a crack in the floor "insolent fool, I only need one to kill you" Silver begins running through the alleyways "you think you can run, but I will find you and end your life" with this he dislodges the spear and disappears. As Silver runs through and out the alley, he reaches a small marketplace "he wouldn't dare attack with so many witnesses around, although if I want to leave quickly I should find somewhere high" he looks around carefully and spots some stairs leading up to a temple covered in vines "that looks good".

As he heads towards the temple steps, a few people watch as he walks away but return to their business in the market. "If I get attacked here, I won't survive" as he reaches the steps, a spear flies towards him, but stops a few centimetres from him and drops from to the ground, hearing the spear fall, he runs up the rest of the steps "he had the perfect shot and missed" when Silver reaches the top he quickly opens the heavy doors to the temple, steps inside and closes them. "This is starting to turn into a nightmare" "don't look at it like that, see it as a chance to show us that we made a good choice" "who's there?" the candles lit up to show a circular room filled with shelves and books, a strange pattern is shown on the floor and is reflected by the mirror on the ceiling.

Four people step out of the shadows, two male and two female. The left most female has long brown hair, grey eyes and wears a yellow dress which covers causes the sleeves to cover her hands, and an orange fedora, whilst the male next to her has short black hair, yellow eyes and wears a suit of red armour. The male on the left has long blue hair, blue eyes and wears dark blue robes, with several gold bracelets. The girl on the right has short green hair with pilot goggles, blue eyes and wears an explorer's outfit.

"We are the four main spirits of this world, you call us the guardians of the world, we each control one of the four elements, I am Venus, guardian of earth" the green haired girl speaks next "I am Jupiter, explorer, adventurer and the best, I control the flow of air" she punches the air above her in excitement. The boy with red hair steps forward "mars, fire, remember it" the girl with blue hair steps forward and bows "Kon'nichiwa watashi wa suigindesu" she looks at Silver confused "sorry, I am mercury, guardian of water, and I have a good knowledge of anything and everything".

Jupiter puts her goggles on "there were seven of us, but two of them were killed" "they were weak" "they simply lacked the understanding of their abilities which lead to their downfall" metal gauntlets formed on Venus's hands and she punched the floor "silence, I will not have you talk ill of our fallen comrades" Silver speaks up "you said there were seven, what about the final guardian, they all stop and stare at Silver "we don't know what happened, even Mercury doesn't know, but enough about this" Mercury nods "Silver, you are important, we believe you can stop the war" "really, I can't bring peace to the humans and hybrids" "no, but you can find the fallen star, which will allow you to create peace in the world, just like what your father tried to do".

"My father..." "We will use our powers to teleport you and our friend to your next destination" as this is spoken, the door begins to creak "how dare they attempt to breach this sacred place!" "Mars calm down, we must transport Silver quickly" the four guardians begin chanting as orbs of blue, red, yellow and green appear and swirl around Silver, and cause him to disappear. When the chant was complete the door explodes into a thousand shards and the figure clad in black armour steps through "Lance, we will not tolerate your attempts to destroy this world" the figure holds out his arms and creates swords which float around him "I plan to save it, but first, I must destroy you four".
