The transport pod arrives at the station and let's out a low beep, alerting the sleeping passengers to their arrival, the two walk out in the middle of the group and pass through the main doors leading into the city "never expected a city to be this high up" Seraph states, looking around "why is everything so... mechanical" "the city is run on steam from the magma pits in the engines" "doesn't that seem dangerous?" "Incredibly, but it's the only way to gain enough power, without carrying a nuclear reactor around" they both begin to walk along the cobblestone street towards a tower "so why go for magma instead of nuclear?" "Kitsuia" "the city that got destroyed by a colossus?" "No, although that's what the 'official' reports say".
The doors to the building swing open and they step inside, the dusty smell of books hit them "if I wanted to visit a library, I would have stayed with Silver"
Silver pulls back from April "you wouldn't happen to know Boreas, would you?" She looks up and tilts her head slightly "I know of him, why?" "That's not an answer" "and that isn't a question" "fine, if you really want to know, I'm his son" April steps back, a look of shock crosses her face as she stares at Silver, her hand hesitantly reaches out and touches silvers cheek " I can't believe that I got to find you" he knocks her hand away "start explaining, preferably before I lose my paitiance" "I see you have his temper, should have guessed that much" Silver starts to look more annoyed as time passes "I know you won't believe me, but I do know Boreas very well, in fact we were close" "stop speaking in fucking riddles and answer me" she chuckles slightly "is that any way to speak to your mother?" A look of surprise slowly appears on Silvers face.
"I don't have a mother... not anymore" she looks down at her feet and speaks softly "I know you feel like that, but I had no choice, before the war started I gave birth to you and hide you in Rhodesia, hoping and praying you were safe" "but you left me alone". April sheds a few tears "I didn't mean to, I was kidnapped and forced to..." her voice goes silent, head tilted back and a raspy voice echoes from her "now, now April. We don't want you divulging all of our secrets" Silver steps forwards "let her go" April's head tilts towards him "hmmm... no" a smile stretches along her face. "I will let you ask one question, for a price, before I leave" "what's your goal in all this?" Her smile fades "the fallen star, I want it to grant my wish to destroy this world and create a new world, create my world" "where is it?" "No, I answered, now for the price" a sharp crack is heard and April falls over, lifeless.
Skye saunters into the fiction section of the library running her fingers along the spines of the books, after a few seconds she stops and gently pulls one out. "Legends of time" she flips through the book until she reaches a chapter entitled kitsuia, she turns around and walks back to Seraph, placing the book on a nearby table and reading aloud "a city off the northern coast of symphonia, destroyed by a colossus of unimaginable strength create dreams by the hybrids" Seraph looks over "no wonder it's in the fiction section" "no proof of the colossus, but no proof of anything else is given to the people" she flicks through a few pages "said to be the land of dreams and wishes, it remains a mystery to this age" "so what? And weren't we supposed to find Raven?"
Skye closes the book, hides it under her shirt and starts walking out the front door "Raven was a member of the exploration team, tasked with finding it" they walk onto the main road at a brisk pace "most members were killed when they found out the secret. The fallen star was there" "so what happened to the island?" "The people sank it a few years after finding the palace housing the star, but nothing would harm the palace itself" "because nothing would destroy the star, so they removed the island from existence" Skye nods but speaks up immediately "except, every 1000 years, the island lifts itself back up to the surface and when the moon turns blood red, it sinks again" "and what does this star do?". They both stop "it grants your hearts desire, whether that's for the greater good or evil". A cold wind blows past them both picking up leaves, carrying the down the street.
A small veil of light pierces through the water, reaching the entrance to the palace as a women with white hair and green eyes looks out upon the forgotten land "soon this land will rise and someone will claim the star, I have seen this" a small light flashes behind her and she turns around slowly and walks over to the light. A small glowing orb sits in the middle of the vast hall, there are no windows, yet it's bright enough to see to the other side of the room. The orb glows bright, changing colours every few seconds "I see" she walks over, studying the orb "nobody has been chosen to win the star, not because there isn't one but..." a sharp whistle resonates around the room, followed by two more "I see, you've chosen three potential winners" a mirror descends slowly from the ceiling and flickers into life.
Upon its surface shows three faces, a man mourning over a dead body, a women walking down the street clutching a book and a hidden figure holding onto a lance. "I see why you chose them, this should be interesting" the mirror moves back up along its chains "are you sure they will make it here in time?" A whistle echoes from the end of the room "I understand, If i have to, I will force them to come here" she moves her hand out of the cloaks sleeve and it glows a dark red "may the best champion, win" she points her hand at the orb, a red light shoots out of her hand, hitting the orb and breaking it into a million pieces "and so the island rises, and the game begins again".
