Chapter 3: cause and effect

Silver was pacing outside his bedroom door wearing a blue shirt and trousers, waiting for Skye to wake up as she rests on his bed "she's a human, if she's found, I'll be kicked out the town. I'll lose everything" he sighs, leans on the wall and slides down until he hits the floor "can this day get any worse?" as that exact moment he hears a knock on the door "apparently, I need to be proved wrong" he pushes his feet against the floor and leaps up, striding towards the front door, he opens it slightly peeking through the gap to see a man dressed in a full black suit with black glasses and slicked back black hair "greetings sir, I have reason to believe that you were at the impact site shortly after the impact took place" "and what would this reason be?" the strange man holds up a small vial of metal liquid "this is the black box from the sentry, it holds a record of you and another helping a wanted fugitive" "nope, no you don't" Silver panics and slams the door shut, the man begins kicking the door to try and force it open "just my luck, now the secret service is after me".

A few feet away on a wooden stand the phone begins ringing "I've got it!" Skye comes bounding out the room and picks it up "hello.... I see.... Yeah, I'll pass it on to him" she puts down the phone back and looks at Silver "put the down and figure out an escape route!" "One moment, your friend was captured and they release a thing if we don't surrender. And the back doors open...." Silver begins freezing the door shut and then runs, grabbing Skye's hand on the way and running through the kitchen and out the back door of the house "why was the door open?" "I got bored and wandered around town" "you're a wanted fugitive and you went on a trip!" he continues running across the ground towards the town "why are we going into a heavily populated area?" "My friend lives there, he can help us" they continue running into the town as a rumbling sound echoes from the direction of silver's house "I'm guessing that wasn't good" they reach the crossroads outside the school and runs past heading for the commercial district "his family owns an auto repair shop, we can borrow something to escape the town".

They both run down the street, shops on both sides are starting to open as a ray of sunshine is moving slowly down the street, each shop is setting up to sell their stock they each sell something different such as ether crystals, furniture or food, Silver and Skye focus on the large building at the end of the street with a metal door leading to the garage, "Glacies" Silver shoots several bolts of ice at the door creating a sound that would hopefully wake up the owner, after a few minutes of waiting the window above the door opens and Seraph looks out at the street. "Silver? You do know what time it is... we don't open till eleven and who's your very cute friend?" he glances down at Skye "long story, open the door!" a scream echoes down the street "hurry!" Seraph disappears for a few moments and opens the metal door enough for them to duck under into the garage. "large metal sphere crashed, evil robot angel, now wanted fugitives that need an escape" Seraph stares at them in awe "I believe the sphere and robot, but she" he gestures to Skye "is too beautiful to be on the run" Skye blushes and Silver closes the metal door "well you better believe it because something is now chasing us" the screams become louder "we have about 2 minutes" Seraph looks around the garage "I only have an incomplete mark 1 jet that nobody can complete as its human technology" Skye walks towards the broken and rust green jet "I can fix it, just need some materials and an ether cylinder" Seraph looks astonished "she is brilliant".

A loud crash is heard, the group looks back to see a large dent in the metal door "maybe we can ask that thing nicely for its cylinder?" "Skye work on the jet, Seraph and I will defeat this thing and get the ether supply" they both run upstairs to the window past several pictures of Seraph and his parents, they open the window looking down at a big mechanical worm attempting to break the door down "is this revenge for me going fishing?" they both jump out the window, Seraph lands on the ground whilst Silver lands on the worm "Duratus!" Silver freezes the middle section of the worm, Seraph grabs a small gas canister from outside the shop as the worm tries to open its mouth to bite at Seraph "we need a spark to ignite this!" Silver points to a small lamp next to the shop "hit the lamp, the gas will explode onto the worm!" Seraph spins the canister round and on the third spin he throws it into the lamp, for a brief second it looked like a bolt of electricity had hit the canister and caused it to explode onto the worm igniting the middle section. Silver leaps off the worm and stands away from it.

The middle section breaks away from the worm to reveal a series of cogs, gauges and a small vial glowing brown in the centre of the machinery "I can try to hold it in place, you grab the vial" Seraph looks at the worm "Ventus" a barrage of wind hits all sides of the monster and seems to lock it in place as Silver runs up to the creature, plunges his hand at the vial and rips it out the socket, the worm slowly stops moving and lays still in the middle of the street "let's hope that Skye's done" the metal door falls down and hits the worm on the head.

"That was a bit too easy" "don't jinx us" they both climb onto the metal door and walk inside the main garage the jet is now hovering in the middle of the floor over a small hole used for repairs, Skye is resting inside the dome around the seats in the middle of the now vibrant green coloured jet. Silver walks to the front, taps on the dome "wake up" Skye jumps up from her rest, hits a button and deactivates the dome. "Sup" Silver passes the vial to her and she slots it into a small cylindrical hole next to the black small screen, it lights up and shows a map of the continent. "Wait, where will we even go?" "They're after me because I can open one of the seals to a deadly weapon" "and your telling me this now!" "Didn't seem important at the time, besides, it's too late to back out now" Silver and Seraph sigh, "guess I have to go with you guys now" "by now they must know you've helped up" they both jump into the main part and take their seats. "we need to save Gaia as well" Seraph's eyes widen "we have no way to get to Crystalia, let's hope that they have taken her to a nearby base, the only ones I know that are nearby, is the one in the desert and the one in the mountains, let's vote on which one we go to. I choose desert" "mountains" "desert" "desert it is" Skye taps the screen several times and the jet shoots forward crashing through the back wall and speeding out the town towards the desert "that worm thing was too easy to beat" Skye looks back at Seraph and Silver "the worm? That was an early creation, anyone can defeat them"

Meanwhile two figures, both covered in black white cloaks, stand on a nearby roof, watching as the jet speeds off towards the east "why did you decide to help them?" the figure turns to their friend "well... it wouldn't be fun to destroy them this soon" he looks down, looking at the broken machine "and besides, it'll be fun to hunt them down... one by one" they mutter a few words and turn into electricity and disappear into the telephone wires, whilst the other sighs and turns into smoke, drifting on the wind.
