Chapter 2: Demons and Angels

Silver awoke to find himself laying face up in the middle of a deserted street, as he stands up carefully and takes a look around at the rows of mechanised buildings on both sides of the street, he notices that the sound of gears crashing together slowly getting louder "never been here before, also how and why am I here. There is no use in panicking, just have to stay calm" fog seems to quickly roll in as he hears the sound of fast paced footsteps heading in his direction, a white haired girl in a black trench coat runs past him, shortly followed by a dark object carrying a blast of wind with it.

Silver quickly sprints after them and catches up to the girl "why is that thing chasing you?" He looks back at the figure and notices the black hood over it and carrying a sharp metal scythe, staring with its glaring red eyes and getting ready to swing it at their heads. "I can understand why you're running now!" She continues running ignoring Silver "the names Silver.... Can you not hear me?" The fog slowly engulfs the area and a new environment is created, in front of Silver is a metal corridor, on each side are metal circles, each leading to a small alcove, in each were a red leather seat, an array of buttons, levers and lights with a control panel in front of the chair. Each pod looks like it's able to only hold one person "stupid sentries! Why did it have to be a mark 4" the girl rushes forwards to the pods, trips on the metal at the bottom of the circle, tumbles into the chair upside down and hits a lever, sealing the door shut "oops" the pod is ejected and rockets itself towards a nearby forest, as Silver looks though the doors window, he notices the forest in the pods path "strange dream, but not the weirdest I've ever had"

Silver jolts up from the hospital bed and immediatley falls off the side onto the wooden floor "ow, atleast I'm awake now. That thing, whatever it was, just creepy" he gets up and looks towards the window, staring into the darkness, only illuminated by the ether powered street lights that were starting to envelope the town in its radiant glow. He returns to the room, searching for his shirt, after grabbing it off the bed post, he heads out the room into the silence of the school. "So glad it's the weekend now, better get home" he quickly runs down several corridors and stairs towards the main entrance only to find that it was locked. "Of course nothing can be easy for me" he hops onto his knees and peers into the lock mechanism, slowly moving his hands to create a shard of ice that moods itself into the shape of a key "here we go" he slowly places the key inside and unlocks the door, opens it and walks outside to shut the door and lock it back up " I may be some things, but atleast I lock up after myself" he starts jogging towards the edge of town towards the forest and his home.

As he jogs, his mind travels back to the dream "mechanical buildings and sentries, sounds like a human invention. We hybrids aren't known for our science and technology, definitely from the Western Hemisphere of Valkyria. The only other place would be a human command post." As he leaves the vicinity of the town, his sensitive hearing picks up a whooshing sound coming from above and immediately looks to see a small fireball hurtling towards the forest and hit with a pound bang. "Was that not a dream then?" Silver uses his reserved stamina from his wolf abilities to sprint quickly to the impact site of the mysterious object.

The forest is partly destroyed with a line of earth dug up leading to a pit several feet in front of him, he stumbles over the edge and rolls down the side to the metallic sphere, he looks at the object and see's blue lines whizzing along the middle going horizontal and vertical along the middle, he places his hand on it expecting to be burnt, but it's colder than anticipated. "Metal, although I have no idea what type. Maybe Gaia would know" walking around the sphere, he gazes at every inch "got to be a way to open it" He spots a flashing red button "I don't have a coin to flip, but it's a red button. One no one should ever press" he hits the button and causes the orb to release a spray of steam as the door opens and lowers a set of stairs to the ground "that's convenient, could of been the self-destruct button" he climbs up the steps to see an unconscious girl, with Snow White hair in the seat.

"Hey, are you... " as he reaches his hand towards the girl, a metal halo hits the step in front of him, bounces off hits a tree and returns to where it was thrown from "STOP, this is a wanted fugitive of the city of Crystalia, number 1134" Silver gaze goes from the girl to the mechanical angel hovering ab over the sphere, dressed in a white robe, holding a metal halo in each of its hands. "She doesn't seem dangerous" "WARNING!, back away from the sphere and return to your home" Silver creates an ice spear in his hands, "you know what?" The angel doesn't respond "I think you're just a bully" he spins the ice spear around, launching shards of ice from it, the angels eyes turn from a honey yellow to blood red as it spins it's halos to destroy the ice shards, it's voice seemed calmer than before "I did warn you, now prepare for your death" the Angel flies towards him and strikes it's blade through the ice spear, shattering it. "Wrong move" Silver causes the millions of ice pieces to shoot directly at the Angel hitting it from all angles, ripping through the white fabric and making it plummet towards the ground where it remains motionless.

"Not sure if that was me, or its batteries" as he steps towards the Angel, it leaps up and tries to hit him with the halo, but misses and flails wildly at Silver. "Seems like you're running low" he ducks and jumps over several of the attacks. The Angel floats up high "the human who created you is a terrible person" the Angel throws the halo straight at Silver, but a flash of black intercepts the halo and deflects it back at the Angel, cutting its arm off. "I missed you sweetheart!" Gaia appears from around the other side of the metal sphere "I thought you might be here" she places her hands in the ground and causes an earth spire to strike through the middle of the Angel "nice to meet you thingy, I'm Gaia, but you can call me your demise" she gets ready to launch a boulder, but the Angel, quickly responds and punches Gaia into the metal sphere "ow" she tries to get up but fails. "Silver, I can't move" Silver quickly glances at the Angel as it attempts to plunge it's halo into him, however a small metallic objects hits the Angel and attaches itself to its head, sending a thousands of volts of electricity through the is system, turning its eyes black and making it collapse into a smoking pile of metal.

"EPE!, otherwise known as ether produced electricity, never leave home without it!" Silver looks around to see the white haired girl staring at him from the spheres doorway, "HI, my names Skye and I'm looking for my mothers, friends son..... If that makes any sense to you" she looks at Gaia. "I didn't interrupt your date, did I?" "Um... No, we aren't.... Together, who are you looking for?" She jumps down all the stairs and rushes up to Silver "you're Silver, I thought I heard you when I was escaping that demon sentry. I'm looking for the son of Boreas Kōri, master of ICE!. Can you take me into the nearest town?" "Yeah, it's not that far" Skye smiles and rushes out of the pit, only to trip over a tree root halfway up the edge and tumble back down. "Skye? And she's unconscious... Perfect" Silver picks up Skye "Gaia can look after herself" and heads carefully back to his house, reflecting on recent events "Why is she a fugitive, and why does she want to see someone who disappeared 16 years ago" as he reaches his front door, he looks up to the night sky "Boreas Kōri, my father"
