Emily packs all her essentials into one large suitcase.
"Here Em, you can put your book in there too so you can read while we wait to board."
"Thanks." She looks up as she takes it from my hands then tucks it in the front pocket.
I wrap my arms around her waist and hold her tight, "You excited?" I kiss her cheek.
"Of course I am. We're going to California, I'm going to see you perform, and your mother is even letting us stay in a separate hotel room from her so we'll have it to ourselves."
I hug her tighter, "I can't wait."

We finally get to the airport after a long and claustrophobic ride to find a parking spot. My mom shouts, "We're here!" She checks the mirrors then parks the car, "Okay Jeffrey, help Emily with her bags and I'll be out in a sec."
Em and I slip out of the car and rush to the back to open the trunk. I pull all our suitcases out then shut the trunk again.
Once we get in there's a long process we go through, like buying the flight tickets and going through security. When we get past it all we go to sit down in the huge lobby. Emily lays her head on my lap while we wait.
