Leo POV
I woke up at 1 in the morning to someone screaming. I ran down stairs with my brothers to find Kat thrashing around on the couch screaming her head off. "No!!! Stop!! It hurts!!"
Splinter was there trying to calm her down, "Michelangelo! Donatello! Quickly go get a rag and wash cloth!" Mickey and Donnie ran into the kitchen.
"Raphael, go get blankets! Quickly! Raph ran up stairs, "Leonardo! Stay with her, I have to get something." Splinter said running into the other room.
I sat down on the couch next to her, and wrapped my arms around her to try and calm her down. She stopped moving around and snuggled into my chest. I could still feel her tears on my chest flowing from her eyes like mini waterfalls.
"No..." She whispered
"It's ok, Kat. It's me, Leo." I whispered softly stroking her hair.
I went to lay her back down, "No! Don't leave me! Please!" She screamed in her sleep.
I let her cuddle back up to me again, when everyone came back she was sleeping softly.
"She's not screaming any more, thank god! She could have signaled Shredder where we are! Screaming like that!" Raph said throwing the blankets on to the couch next to Leo.
"Leo how did you calm her down?" Donnie asked.
"I...um...I....." Leo started blushing.
"You like her!!!" Mickey sang.
"I do not!!" Leo shifted to get up, but he remembered Kat, and stayed still.
"Oh see! Not even trying to get up and hit me! He is practically denying it!" Mickey teased.
Leo rolled his eyes, and looked down at Kat. She was beautiful, long straight brown hair, a light tan and she had green eyes.
"Leonardo? I'm glad you got her calmed down, now we should rest." Splinter said turning to leave.
I didn't move, Splinter stopped and turned around.
"My son? Are you coming?"
"Um.... Senzi?"
"Come on let's go back to bed, Leo." Donnie motioned.
"I can't..."
Raph stopped half way up the stairs, "What do you mean, you can't?"
I pushed Kate away and she began screaming everyone cupped their ears.
"Make her stop!!" Raph yelled.
I pulled her close to me, she stopped screaming and cuddled up to me again.
"Awww!" Mickey said batting his eyes, "She's so attached to you!"
"That doesn't mean anything!!"
"I'm afraid it means a lot, My son." Splinter said, "We will talk about this in the morning though, but now everyone get some rest. Leo, stay with her for the night."
I nodded and looked down at Kat. I heard her say something but it was to quite to make out. I could feel her breathing slowly, as she slept peacefully.
"Goodnight, Kat." I whispered to her.
Kat POV
When I woke up I was laying on Leo's chest on the couch and he was sleeping softly. I began blushing wildly. I tried to get up with out waking him, but he woke up.
"Kat...your up! I....um....I" he was blushing too.
I got off of him and sat across from him with my knees on my chest.
He sat up and rubbed the back of his head, "I'm sorry. It's just...last night you were screaming and thrashing around. And I tried to calm you down and you relaxed and fell asleep on me."
"Oh yea the nightmare....." My voice trailed off remembering the horror that I had thought was real.
Leo edge closer to me, "Care to tell me?"
I sighed, "I was at the lab again, they were doing all kinds of tests on me, like that did when I was younger."
"I'm sorry." He said taking my hand and looking me in my eyes.
"It's not your fault."
"Well, look at them already up at 8 in the morning and there holding hands. What's Karri going to say? You being a player and all?" Raph said walking up.
"We finished your room!" I heard Mickey call down.
"Thanks!" I called back.
"What!? Did you say Raph?" Leo said getting up his tone scared me.
I watched them go back and forth, calling names and throwing insults. I stood up to go get some breakfast, but fell to the floor in pain.
Leo ran to my side, "Kat are you ok?"
"It hurts, please make it stop." I moaned.
"Raph get Donnie! I'll meet you in his lab!" Leo said picking me up.
Leo carried me to Donnie's lab and laid me down on a metal table. My skin shivered from its touch, for the last time I was on a table the Krang were doing experiments on me. Leo was starting to get fuzzy, I could feel pain shooting like needles through my body.
"What's wrong with her?!?" Leo said watching Donnie look over me.
Donnie moved a piece of hair to get a better look at my neck,"Look! It's a shock chip!!!"
They all looked at something on my neck. "What's a shock chip??" Mickey asked.
"A shock chip is sort of like a shock collar. Whenever an animal does something wrong press a button and their bodies become shocked with electricity. The thing about a shock chip though is that it's practically invisable and the wearer might not even know its there." Donnie explained.
Donnie got some tools that looked like the ones the Krang had used on me. Leo saw my face and came over and squeezed my hand. I let Donnie work, until he came at me with something that looked like a shot! My animal instincts went wild! I shifted into my wolf form, and growled at him showing him my teeth and laying my ears flat in my back.
"Stay away!" I growled through clenched teeth. Everyone backed off, except Leo.
"Kat, it's ok. But you have to let Donnie do his work though, ok." Leo said trying to reassure me, he paused for a moment then shyly added, "You can sit with me if you want."
I looked at him, shifted into a cat and jumped in his lap, then shifted back to my human form facing him.
I placed my head on his shoulder, "I'm.....ready...just...be gentle." I said softly.
I felt Leo pull my hair back and Donnie go back to work. I don't know what it was its just that I felt safe with Leo. That he would protect me. I occasionally whimpered in pain, and Leo would just shh me and stoke my hair. It hurt I could feel every thing Donnie was poking and prodding the chip with, I kept pulling Leo closer to me until he couldn't get any closer. When Donnie was finished I relaxed, but stayed put on Leo's lap. I wanted to say there in those strong arms because for some odd reason I felt protected for the first time in years. Everyone left mainly because they thought I was asleep, except Leo, he knew that I wasn't and I just wanted to be held at the moment. I feel asleep and also felt something new in my heart for the first time ever, I didn't know what it was but it felt wonderful!
