"I can't believe you just did that!" I exclaimed, throwing my controller on the floor.
"What? Just because you're my girlfriend does not mean I'll go easy on you in Mario Kart," Matt smirks, watching me as I narrow my eyes at the tv screen displaying Matt's win.
"Well, you shouldn't of thrown a red shell at me right before I was gonna win first place!" I slumped in my seat and crossed my arms across my chest. "A good boyfriend wouldn't have done that," I stand up and start to walk away but Matt grabs my waist with both his hands and pulls me down and onto his lap.
"That's because I'm an amazing boyfriend," he purrs into my ear.
I groan and try pulling away from him. "Stop, you always do this. Let me be made at you for stupid things like this." He starts pecking my jaw line and down to my collarbone. "Matt," I say, breathlessly. "How did a friendly game of Mario Kart turn into this?" He doesn't reply, instead he grips my hips tighter and sucks on my soft skin.
I groan in frustration before giving in. I turn my body around and straddle in front of him, grabbing his face with both my hands and smack my lips onto his. Matt immediately responds, smiling against our moving lips. "Looks like I'm not the only one that's so greedy," Matt says, his voice so low it vibrates through his throat. His hands slip under my top and starts drawing small circles on my back. My hands have moved - one getting tangled in his hair while the other one traces lines down his chest.
Matt groans, pulling me even closer to him. I deepen the kiss, our tongues dancing with each other, our hands exploring the other body so greedy, our moans giving the other person a sort of high that no drug can beat.
"Shouldn't you guys be doing that in Maddie's bedroom. You know, so that we can avoid encounters like this one," My dad says, sounding awfully tired as he grabs a water bottle from the fridge.
I pull my lips away from Matt right at the sound of my dad's voice. And to think, that even though this has happened a couple times before that my cheeks wouldn't be as red as the last time. But that's completely false, hencing my ripe tomato colored cheeks. Matt smirks at my cheeks as he drags his thumb across it. Embarressed - by both Matt and my dad - I let out an embarressed groan before hiding my face in the crook of Matt's neck. "You could of just turned around and walked back to your room when you saw us?" I told my dad, my voice muffled from talking against Matt's skin.
"Yeah, but where's the fun in that?" My dad laughs and Matt chuckles. Sometimes I think that it's me against the two of them. Matt is never, ever embarressed from these kind of encounters with my dad. He just laughs it off alongside my dad. Not cool, if you ask me. "Besides," My dad continues, "I was really thirsty."
"You could of just been thirsty for five more minutes?"
He shrugs. "I like embarassing you, Maddie. There's no avoiding that." I roll my eyes and pull my head up to narrow my eyes at my dad. "Also, be sure to sleep early. We have a flight to catch tomorrow." Finally my dad leaves, leaving me and Matt in the living room with Mario Kart playing in the backround.
Matt smirks at me and I stick my tongue out at him before turning my head around to look at the clock. "He's right. It's already 11, let's go to bed," I say, running a hand through my hair. I start getting up but got pulled back into Matt's lap.
"I want one more," Matt says, grabbing my face and connecting our lips for a long, soft, and sweet kiss.
"Mmm," I hum, my eyes still shut.
"Mm," Matt responds leaning his forehead against mine and twirling a strand of my hair between his fingers. "Now we can go to bed."
I sigh and get up from Matt's lap. I quickly turn off the tv before walking up the stairs with Matt right behind me. We get into my room and I head to my dresser, grabbing some basketball shorts for Matt before grabbing some pj's for me. I toss the shorts to Matt and strip out of my outfit and into my pj's, Matt doing the same.
It's a good thing Matt leaves some of his stuff at my place, so that, in times like this, he doesn't have to sleep in his outfit he wore all day. I have some clothes over at his house just in case I decide to spend the night at his house, but he's usually at mine.
Together, we walk to the bathroom and brush our teeth. Sitting on the counter with Matt in front of me, I ask; "Are you excited to spend the entire summer with me?"
"Well it's not like I have anything else better to do," Matt smirks, spitting the toothpaste out of his mouth and into the sink.
I take the my toothbrush out of my mouth and hit his nose with it, leaving a streak of toothpaste on his nose. "Then maybe I should just throw you out the window while I still can," I narrow my eyes at him, "Because I'm nice enough to not throw you out the window while we're on the plane."
"Come on, babe, you wouldn't ever do that to me," Matt says before rinsing his mouth and putting away his toothbrush.
I quickly do the same. "And why wouldn't I do that?"
"Because you love me," Matt smiles down at me before pulling me in for a hug, resting his chin on top of my head.
I sigh, "Yeah, you're right. Now, let's go watch some Netflix before we sleep." Matt nods and we exit the bathroom.
Getting comfy in bed, Family Guy plays on my laptop that's sitting besides us. "But I am," Matt says. "I'm gonna make this summer the best summer you'll ever have before we head off to college."
I snuggle closer to Matt in response. Tomorrow Matt, my dad, and I will be flying to Flordia for the whole summer. Even though Matt and I are going to be going to the same college together, we wanted to spend the summer together before the start of college.
Just thinking about how far Matt and I have come, from our little connection on the first day of school to laying next to each other, preparing for our flight to Flordia together, puts a giant smile on my face. We have gone through so much drama and pain this past year that it just strengthens our relationship even more.
"What are you thinking about?" Matt wonders, playing with my hair.
"Us," Was all I had to say to make him understand exactly what I was thinking. Matt didn't say anything, he didn't have to. We continued watching Family Guy until my eye lids started to get heavy.
"I love you."
Even though sleep was pulling me in I was able to stay awake long enough to let Matt know that his feeling towards me were reciprocated. Maybe my feelings for him was stronger than his feeling towards me.
"I love you, too."
