Cleaning the gym wall was absolutley embarrassing. We had to scrub it off, and even though we told them that that wouldn't clean it up they wanted us to waste our time, effort, and make us feel stupid. But after we painted over it, it dried and we found out that Johnny bought the wrong shade of white and he had to go out and get another can. Which left me with the teacher that was in charge of us and, let me tell you, it was so awkward. I just stared at the floor and felt the other students eyes on me as they walked by. Worst morning ever.

"Maddie? Where have you been?" Matt jogs up to me. "I've been looking for you."

I roll my eyes at him, "Why? Miss me already?" I grab my history notes for my test and close my locker. I turn to face him more and tilt my head to the side waiting for an answer.

He scoffs at me, "You wish." I chuckle and listen to him continue, "Where were you?"

I roll my eyes at the thought and said, "I had to help Johnny clean his mess he made yesterday after school." Matt furrowed his eyebrows. I sigh, "It's a long story, don't worry about it." I wave it off and show him my history notes, "But what I do need you to do is help me study for my history test later today." I smile and watch as his expression goes from confused to calm.

"Alright, let's go to the library." He turns and starts walking. I follow behind and when we enter the library Matt leads us to a table in the back corner far away from everyone. "Okay," He sighs and snatches my notebook from my hands, "what do we have here."

I take a seat and turn my phone to silent. I watch as he furrows his eyebrows and stares at my notes. I chuckle, "Is there a problem?"

"Yeah...For one, I can not read your handwriting." He looks down at me and smirks.

I roll my eyes, "And I bet your handwriting is so much neater than mine when taking notes." I say sarcasically.

He laughs, "You're right. But this is still pretty bad." He points at the notes. We keep arguing about me handwriting for a good couple minutes. And even if he was able to read my handwriting, he still wouldn't help me becasue he's so distracting! We'd talk about the French Revolution and, the next thing you know it, he's telling me a story about how he saw two flies mating. Don't ask.

Barely reviewing anything the bell rings and we get up and head to our classes upstairs. Walking up the stairs I tell Matt, "Remind me to never ask you to help me study again."

He playfully shoves me and says, "Hey, I wasn't that bad. I made you laugh, didn't I?" He smiles at me with those beautiful brown eyes.

Maddie! What are you thinking? The part of me that believes that I'm confused about boys, says.

I'm sorry! They are beautiful, I will literially faint. The part of me that believes his the one for me, says.

Yeah but don't fall for the boy!

They are beautiful eyes, and he's very attractive. Can't you see?

Okay maybe he is...

While I'm in a daze, some guy jams his shoulders into mine and I roll my eyes at him. Obviously Matt saw that because he wraps an arm around my waist and pulls me into him and out of the way from people who are running the opposite way to get to their classes. We meet eyes and we're smiling at each other like crazy.

Stop it, Maddie. Don't fall for the guy!

Too late.

I slide into the lunch table and I start on my salad immediantly. I barely ate breakfast becasue I was preparing for my test. After I finish my big ass bite I look up and see everyone staring at me. "What?" I ask, "Is there something wrong? Where's Johnny?"

Gabby sighs, "He's not at school."

Aaron adds, "And he's not talking to us. We think you're the problem."

I choke on my salad. "That's real funny guys." I chuckle. "Don't worry, I'll be out of you're guys way for a couple days."

Sam gives me a confused look, "What are you talking about?" Everyone looks my way.

"I'm going to Flordia to visit my mom and friends at the end of the month."

"Oh really? That's awesome!" Gabby exclaims. "Who are you going with?"

"I don't know yet." What are you talking about? Tell them you're bringing Matt! "I-I'm still thinking about it." I smile while stabbing the lettuce with my spork.

Everyone just ignores what I said because they start talking about something else.

Wow. Okay guys.

I sit at the breakfast bar with my dad beside me and we start eating our pasta. All hail spaghetti! It's always so nice to sit with my dad and eat together. Sometimes we don't always do that because he works at nights and I usually eat alone. Sad, I know.

"So have you put any thought about visiting your mom?" He looks over at me and raises his eyebrows.

"Oh." I start, finishing my bite. "I'm considering it." I avoid his eyes so I could not feel disappointed for considering the fact that I want to go my mom who broke my dads heart. Yeah, yeah. Horrible daughter, I know.

"Are you bringing anyone with you?" He asks and I stop my fork halfway from reaching my mouth.

"I was thinking of bringing Matt..." I slowly look over at him and watch his face for a reaction.

"Matt? I haven't even met the boy yet." He says concerned.

"Then you'll meet him! We could invite him over for dinner or something!" I suggest. If theirs anyone that I want to come with me, it would be Matt. I mean, who else would I bring? Sam? We're not as closes as me and Matt are.

My dad starts laughing. "You really want him to go, huh?"

"Yes." I say innocently.

He sighs, "Alright, this friday. But, if I sense any sign of bad news from the guy or anything like that he is not going with you."

Wow, that was easier than I thought. But hey, that's one of the reasons why I love him.
