See a Demon, Kill a Demon

SAPPHIRE POV

Everyone is looking to me for guidance. But this has thrown me for a loop. I didn’t expect to see these two men about to battle. I had to get Cassie to give me the quick rundown on everyone here and all the events that have taken place. From what I have gathered, the dragon is Alaric and he is the mermaid Siren’s mate. Silas has tricked them into forced mating. And when Alaric found out he flipped the script. For lack of a better term. So now they are in this clearing surround by demons and this fool Alaric thinks he’s walking out alive. So I guess it’s up to me to make sure that he does

“Ok I know our original plan has just been thrown out the window so I’m coming up with this one on the fly. I have to get the crystal into to activate and let my son use it to stab Silas in the heart. So what I’m looking at for the rest of you is a diversion. Tyree, Zaire, Cassie, and grandma you guy have to keep Silas distracted because you are the strongest. Everyone else see a demon, kill a demon.” I say to my crew and everyone gives a nod. “Now as soon as the battle starts I want you all to spring into action. Siren go straight to your mate and tell him we are not the enemy.” She’s finally calm, but I can still see her trembling. We all stay in our spots and watch this unfold.

“So we are all gathered here because this pathetic man has decided to formally challenge your leader.” Silas is addressing the crowd. He has this smirk on my face and I know there’s something up his sleeve. Alaric is stone faced. But that beast of a man is as ready as he could ever be. I then see an amazing sight. Never in all my years did I think I’d see a real life dragon transform right before my eyes. This man is already 7 feet tall, but when he stands upright now as a dragon he is close to 12. His scales are bright vibrant blues, and oranges. He is breathtaking. I look around us and we are all in awe. But his mate looks as if she is drunk off his appearance. I look a Silas’ face and I see a slight hint of disbelief and worry. But it’s quickly replaced with his normal smug, cocky look. I the hear Silas yell “let the battle begin.” And instead of him moving from his spot I see all the demons descend on Alaric. And with that we charge forward.

I do not have the time to worry about the others my only concern at the moment is my son and getting to Silas. We are both shooting fireballs out of our palms and making our way through the crowd. I look into the eyes of the dragon and know he knows we are on his side. He lets out a hell of a roar and every demon on his side is engulfed in flames. It’s not enough to kill them with just flames. I’m a witch so all of my power have been blessed for this specific need. Alaric will have to bite the heads of them off or tear their hearts out. And I’m not sure he knows that. I can see frustration on his part when the charred bodies keep rising back up. I scan the field for Siren I need to let him know how to kill them. I see he huddles safely under one of his wings. I look back at Zack (he son’s nickname) and tell him to cover me. I run to her and tell her some way somehow she has to tell him how to kill. We need him. We are severely outnumbered. Turning to run back to Zack I’m knocked to the ground. It’s my own fault I was so deep in thought I wasn’t watching my back. A demon is on my back. I can feel his sharp claws digging into my side and the blood dripping down. I’m struggling to move. I know I must calm down and remember what I’ve been taught and then just like this a boot is connected with his face. I look into the angry face if my sister……..

CASSIE POV

I see the demon knock her down. She’s disoriented and panicking. He is digging his claws into her sides and I can see blood. Running over I kick the bastard square in the face and he goes flying off her. I smile because there no enchanted cuffs one me anymore. There’s no holding Cassie down and beating her, or raping her. I’m free and I’m out for blood. Me and Sapphire are always the strongest when we are together. And even stronger while touching. I reach out and help her up and look just in time to see him rushing us. And then I snatch his heart out of his chest. And there’s no remorse. And no regrets. “it’s time to find Silas sis. We have to end this.” She just nods and I see Zack rushing up to us. “I saw him mama. He ran into the hills. We have to stop him.” he’s speaking fast to my sister.  So that’s where we head to find him in the hills.
