Tears of joy
They rarely fall
But when they do
They are the sweetest of allTears of laughter
They're more often
When they slide out of my eyes
I savor themTears of sadness
They are popular
They dot my pillow
And stain my cheeksTears of pain
They come now
And again
They fall when I sinThese tears I cry
They mean something
They mean I'm still human
They mean I still feelThis may not seem significant
For you
To me
They are what keep me hereTears in my clothes
They don't bother me so
I find them
I fix them
They are gone in a flashTears in my skin
They come now and again
They heal
But leave a trail
I hide them best I canTears in my heart
Are easy to hide
I smile
I laugh
Its what keeps them
From asking
What for
Do you cryDo you see now
A tear
A drop of salt waterA tear
A rip in a broken bodyDo you see now
These tears and tears that I bareI don't wear them with pride
In fact I like it when they're easy to hideDon't tell
Don't spread the wordI hide them
Because I'm told toNow bruises are different
I have an excuse
I'm clumsy you see
But that's another story
