I go back up to Rosa, she is still asleep, but it is a normal sleep with no laboured breathing. We should get a peaceful sleep tonight. Great, I for one need it. I think I will fall asleep now, just forty winks. She is unharmed and there is not much else I can do right now. I am woken by squeals of delight, from both Molly and Rosa. She is not the dog she used to be, but she is getting there, skinnier, but then so are Rosa and I. Looking after a poorly child has taken its toll. All came to a good ending though as it is a joy to see them back together. I do not know who can squeal louder, Molly or Rosa. I feel like joining in but do not want to intrude on their moment. They will both improve each other's chances of a full recovery.

George is standing looking down on them, crying without restraint, so there is still a heart there, after all.

I walk up to him and gently tap him on the shoulder.

"Sir?"

He loudly sniffs and tries to regain some semblance of control.

"I thought you were calling me George from now on, remember?"

"I'm sorry about that Sir, I was just distraught over Rosalind, Molly...everything, I lost the run of myself, forgive me, please."

"Nanny, you've just saved my daughter's life. I should be apologizing to you. We have many things to talk about and to sort. I have a contract to sign tomorrow, so it will give us all some much-needed space. I will be back in about three days. In the interim, I will leave it up to your good judgement, whether these two are up to going outside, or not. You do not need permission for that, not anymore. I do request that you respect my wishes and be as quiet as possible, Nanny, please."

He is leaving much sooner than I expected I do not think I can leave Rosa on her own yet. She has still not fully recovered. I will have to get the key tonight so I can have a good root around while he is not here.

"That's fine with me Sir, but if you don't mind, can I have an hour or two off tonight?"

"Have you plans, Nanny?"

"Just tired, Sir, need to recharge the batteries, get some fresh air, time to just relax and breathe should do the trick. I will clean the drawing room before I go. I have not had a chance with everything that has been happening, and while you are gone, I can get into the cleaning. Get everywhere spic and span and hopefully germ-free, Sir."

"Okay, Nanny, but the drawing room is fine as it is, leave it for now, I insist, no arguments. Go and enjoy your walk."

"I'd rather get it done before you go, Sir, the drawing room is out of bounds when you're not here, remember Sir."

"That is going to be one of many changes around here, Nanny, for the better, I think you'll find. I am eternally grateful to you, but if you insist."

"Thank you, Sir, I'll get on with it. I'll let you know when I'm going because I don't think these two are well enough to be left on their own, as yet."

"Don't worry Nanny, they'll be fine, I'll be here."

That, George, is the crux of the problem.
