CHAPTER 4

EDITED

OF FLIPS & FALLS

SMACK!

The water hit my back, stinging and I was plunged into the icy waters. I opened my mouth before Roxy could do anything. It was a fight not to struggle and keep calm; I could feel the water seeping into my mouth, and into my lungs, its stinging chill breathtaking.

My vision started to fuzz, and my body shut down as my lungs emptied of O2 and filled with CO2 . A plunging sound interrupted my peaceful dyeing and I was pulled roughly threw the water. Coldness struck me and shot right to the bone.

Whats happening…? I managed to think. But before I could do anything else, something struck my abdomen, and I began to vomit. Cold air pushed into my lungs and all I could do gasp as my eyes spilled over with tears.

Why?

“Oh my gosh! Is she alright?” the girls voice sounded panicked.

“I’m not sure,” someone lightly smacked me on the cheek, “Hey you? You okay?”

“What are you doing of course she’s not! She almost drowned!”

I managed to open my eyes and what came into focus was the two people I had seen before I fell.

Just wonderful. Why did they save me, I could have been taken for as a drowned rat. I groaned and closed my eyes, I wanted to sleep, nothing more.

“Come on, talk to me, say something, anything!” the cute blond haired guy sat me up and patted my back like I was a baby.

“I’m not a baby, no need to burp me.” I brushed his hand away.

The girl, who had blond curly hair, giggled. “At least she has a sense of humor, even when she almost died!”

“Ha, ha,” the guy said, his cheeks flushed and held out his hand to me. I looked at it, and then decided, why not?

What have I to loose? I laughed and took his hand heaving myself up.

“So, who are you, I haven’t see you here before.”

“I’m a nobody, and I’ve never been around this place before.” I answered, trying to keep the smirk off my face. The curly haired girl giggled again.

“Hi! I’m Heidi, nice to meet you,” she smiled and I shook her hand.

“Hey, I’m Rosamond, with a capital R, nice to meet you to.” A capital R? Seriously? Where did that come from?

“See? That’s how you talk to someone!” she said to the guy that must have pulled me out of the water, ‘cause he was all wet. “Sorry about my brother, he’s just being an alpha, he’s Finn by the way.”

I looked at the wet Finn, he was tall, highly muscular, and soaked through like me. I shyly waved a ‘hi’ to him and he gives me a small smile.

“Hey love to talk,” I lied, “But I need to get back,” not a lie, “thanks for the life saving,” another lie, “Bye!” and I put all my energy into sprinting away from them.
