"Ugghhh Carter what did you do to me?"
"Beyonce this is not my fault. You're the one who insist on eating fast-food every other day."
I rolled my eyes. "This is crazy, I've been working out and I'm still gaining weight." I explained as I laid down on the bed.
Shawn laughed. "Beyonce what are you doing?"
"Shawn I have to get into these jeans." I said as I was sucking in my gut and trying to button my jeans.
"If you have to do all that maybe you don't need to wear them."
"Shawn shut up I blame you for this." I said as finally got the jeans buttoned up. "Finally."
"Now breath." He laughed.
"Hahahaha very funny Shawm."
"Look are you ready to go?" He asked.
"Yea, let just make sure Shamyah is still the bed."
Shawn and I had planned a date night for the first time in a long time. These past few day has been all about Shamyah and Solange and tomorrow we are all going back to Houston so before we do that we want to enjoy a night in NY by our self. Michelle said that she would watch the girls for us tonight so that worked out perfectly. I went into Shamyah's room and she was sleeping. She has been out for about 20 minutes now. I kissed her, flipped her night light on and turned off the television. I then met Solange, Michelle, and Carter in the living room.
"Ok I'm ready. Michelle Shamyah should be sleep for the rest of the night and Solange won't be a problem, right Solange?'
"Bey I don't understand why I need a baby sitter anyway. I'm 15."
"And that's exactly why you need a sitter, you're only 15."
"Mom and dad leave me home alone all the time."
"And where did that get you? How many months are you again?"
"Beyonce that's a low blow."
"Goodnight Solange, don't stay up to late, and Michelle thank you again."
"No problem, go and enjoy yourself. Goodnight."
"Goodnight." Carter and I said in unison
"Goodnight Solange." Carter said.
"Goodnight Carter, Corey, Shawn."
I rolled my eyes. "I don't understand why you just won't call him Shawn."
"Its cool I'm stating to get use to it."
I shook my head. "Come on Corey."
Carter and I made our way to his car and when he started the car up one of my poems changed into a song started playing.
"Be Alright"
Across the ocean, across the sea,
Starting to forget the way you look at me now
Over the mountains, across the sky,
Need to see your face, I need to look in your eyes
Through the storm and through the clouds
Bumps on the road and upside down now
I know it's hard, babe, to sleep at night
Don't you worry
'cause everything's gonna be alright, ai-ai-ai-aight
Be alright, ai-ai-ai-aight
Through the sorrow, and the fights,
