Should Have Let Me Explain...

a/n So sorry for making y'all wait but I have been waiting and wanting to update my NEW fanfic, Summer Love, but I have to get twenty reads so if you guys would, PLEASE GO READ IT! I will love you all the more!;) Oh! And I also deleted my other fanfic, Drunken And Lied Too, because it had like no reads at all...and I was fixing to break out the mystery...oh well! on with this lovely story! smiles and kisses. "Louis I-I-I..." she cleared her throat and started again, "Louis I was wondering..." I nodded for her to go on. "Is this," she gestured between us, "what I think it is?"

I raised my eyebrow and cocked my head with a smirk, "what do you think it is?" I tried to hide the slight chuckle in my voice.

She rolled her eyes and said, "Are we really gonna try doing this? Behind not only our parents backs but everyone we know?" She was being sincere and I could tell by the look she was giving me; soft eyes and slightly pursed lips.

I advanced toward her, pushing past the kitchen island and grabbing her hands in mine, making her look at me. "I wanna try, but do you?" I was absolutely worried out of my mind, if she wasn't ready to do this, I would be crushed.

Instead of answering me verbally she cupped my face in her small fragile hand and pressed her lips to mine softly- sweetly. I pulled back and leaned our foreheads together, "I take that as a yes?"

"Well yeah silly." And with that we kissed again, and again. We kissed until we heard mum asking Alicia to go upstairs and grab me for dinner. It's weird being we were being fairly loud and she didn't hear a thing? Oh well, I'm glad she didn't because then this would be over before it even began...

"So Louis, why don't you tell Jared what you did at school today?" Mum asked vindictively. She was just wanting him to yell at me...just wait until he heard why I beat Caleb up.

I threw her the fakest smile I could manage and turned to Jared saying, "Well today I got in a fight."

"With who?" He questioned with concern written all over his face as he looked me over for bruises.

"Caleb Ryder."

"Why?"

"He called your daughter the class-whore." I stated with a monotone type voice, looking him dead in the eyes. Out of the corner of my vision I saw my mum's mouth drop. If she would have just let me explain then this wouldn't be such a damn surprise to her.

His face was one of pure shock and disbelief. "But-but-but she's not that kind of girl..." He stuttered then trialed off.

"No sir, she is not. But not everybody knows that, that's the issue with living here. Everything gets blown way out of proportion. I was quietly standing up for her when he got even more mouthy, so I got up and I hit him- simple as that." I was being smug and I knew it, but guess what? I didn't give a shit.

Alicia nudged me from her spot across the table from me, mouthing "thank-you". I just nodded in response and turned back to my mother.

"Now do you wish that you let me explain?" I cocked my head to the side and made my look even smugger if that was even possible.

"No Louis, no matter what he said to provoke you, you still shouldn't have hit him. Oh, and you're still grounded for 8 months, sorry not sorry." She is such a raging bitch!

"Jared, what's your verdict on my punishment for standing up for your daughter?" I put the emphasize on the last part so he wouldn't forget that I did it for Alicia.

Jared looked from side to side- me to my mum. He was conflicted on whether to stick with mum on her 8 months of grounding or to side with me because I stood up for his daughter. He better pick me, mum can suck it!

"Um...I-I-I think that he shouldn't be grounded for 8 months..." There you go Jared! "Maybe just 4?" Dammit Jared, no!

Mum pulled back in shock, she thought he was going to agree perfectly well with her. Sucks to suck! "But Jared he practically broken Caleb's bones...?" She was hesitant now. Good.

"Yes dear, but he did stand up for Alicia and that's a big step for them...considering they pretty much hate each other." He was being completely honest, for once. I knew that our façade of liking each other wouldn't stick for long. They knew we hated each other- or used too...

Mum slammed her napkin on the table and said, "He is my son and I will decide his punishment, no matter what his excuse was for beating up Caleb, I don't care. I also don't care that it's 'such a big step for them', he needs to learn how to keep his temper under control!" And with that she stormed out of the room.

During the entire argument Alicia stayed quiet and averted her gaze from both her father's and my mother's. I have no idea how she wasn't flipping shit right now- I was pissed.

Jared sighed heavily and turned to look back at both of us, "I'm sorry for Abigail's outburst. Louis if you were my biological son and I had the rights, you wouldn't be in trouble at all at home. You stuck up for your sister and to me that's all that matters. Caleb shouldn't have said anything to you, it's not your fault that you lost your temper. God knows it's genetic..." I said the last sentence under his breath but me and Alicia still heard it, stifling a giggle or two as was Jared.

"So are we good to go back upstairs while Abigail cools down?" Alicia asked, sending a wink my way where her father couldn't see it. I chuckled and just shook my head slightly.

"Yes Alicia, you and Louis go on upstairs and I will try to reason with your mum, " he nodded towards me, "about lessening your sentence to house arrest. Okay?"

I rolled my eyes in amusement and laughed, "yeah okay, thanks Jared. Let's go Alicia." I got up, pushed my chair in and walked back upstairs with Alicia. Once out of the 'stairwell' I placed my hand on her back and ran happily- more like giddily- to my room where we could finally be alone again.

a/n hope you enjoyed and if you are wondering who Caleb is, I had to go back and change his friend's name because I forgot that I already named Alicia's father that...sorry and if you don't read author's notes than sucks to suck because I doubt you will know who Caleb is! smiles and kisses. Mars.
