Chapter Twenty

Amaterasu was walking through the village not really going anywhere. She never really liked today. She looked around the area seeing happy couples and families having fun. She sighed. Her birthday was on Valentine's day; the day of love. The love she doesn't have.

"Mommy!" Turning around she saw Kohaku running to her.

"What are you doing out here? You are supposed to be at the academy." She said scolding her blond haired daughter.

"But I got this for you!" Kohaku said taking out a black box holding it out for her. Taking the small box, she opened it making her eyes widen.

"Happy birthday mama!" Kohaku grinned seeing her mothers face.

"Kohaku, where did you get the money for this?"

"Hm? I got the money from Shisui but he doesn't know." This made the birthday girl chuckle.

"At least your learning something but that doesn't give you a right to leave the academy to buy me something that could've waited until after classes." This made Kohaku frown.

"Hn."

"You really are my daughter." Amaterasu sighed making Kohaku giggle as they headed to the academy.

"Thank you."

"Your welcome mommy!"

After dropping Kohaku off at the academy and explaining the situation with Iruka who just dismissed the whole thing and wishing her a happy birthday before leaving. Amaterasu was sitting on the swing that was across from the front doors of the academy. She looked at the gift that her daughter had gotten her. A pair of ruby earrings what were the shape of roses. She always did like roses, cherry blossoms and lilies.

"They're beautiful." Looking up she saw Kakashi giving her one of his famous eye-closed smiles.

"They are but I wonder if Kohaku had help. Did you help her, Kakashi?"

"Picking those out? No, it's the first time I've seen them." Standing up she faced Kakashi.

"What are you planning?"

"What?"

"From what I heard from Sasuke and the others you spend most of your time at the KIA stone." Kakashi laughed nervously rubbing the back of his head.

"I already been there and I was going to get something to eat and I wanted to see if you wanted to come with me?"

"This wasn't part of the plan, Hatake!"

"Kakashi-sensei! Stop hit on Ama-chan!

"Yeah! That's my brothers job! Right Tobirama!?"

"Shut up!"

"Really? Your paying? No skipping out on the bill?"

"Nope. It's my gift for the birthday girl."

"I knew it!" This made him chuckle.

"Is that a yes or a no?"

"Well... Since your buying I can't pass up the offer."

"Great. Where do you want to eat?"

"Ichiraku!" Amaterasu grabbed his hand dragging him out the academy grounds.

"What's the hurry? It's not going anywhere."

"It's ramen, Kakashi! I'm warning you now, I eat just as much as Naruto."
