I'm so upset right now. I'm fucking disgusted with a fandom of all things. It takes a lot to piss me off to this extreme extent. But, how dare you? How dare you drive someone to attempting suicide? OVER HER GODDAMN ART WORK!
Steven Universe is a show that prides itself on being inclusive, welcoming, and something that anyone from every walk of life. It wants to give everyone proper representation so they can see a part of themselves within the characters. The writers strive to make sure everyone feels they have a voice and the freedom to express themselves. Yet the same people who call themselves fans who want equal representation blatantly ignore that because someone's art doesn't fit to their standards.
She drew an overweight character thin. She put herself into her art. She drew what she wanted and you destroyed her. You tore her down when all she wanted to do was share her art. You'll sooner defend a picture of a CHILD FUCKING A SPACE ROCK BEFORE A THIN REPRESENTATION OF AN OVERWEIGHT CHARACTER!
Where do you get off with such hypocrisy? You claim to want to include everyone, but you have no problem driving someone to suicide over their preferred art style.
For those who aren't artists or writers you need to pull your heads out of your asses and realize that this treatment is unacceptable. We pride ourselves in our work. The courage it takes to post our work online for all eyes to see is undeniable. Don't even pull you're on the internet you'll get haters and you should expect negativity. You're right we should. But, we still want to grow. We still want to learn. But, when a groups attack you as they try to be a SJW then we have a fucking problem.
For those artist who attacked her... you are by far the worst of all. You know the pain, the struggle, and the disappoint. Yet, you attack unwavered by the outcome.
Zamii070 I support you and I hope you get better. Don't change your art. You're amazing and you need to stay that way. Don't be deterred. When people shit talk you, prove them wrong. They tried to break you and now you can only grow stronger.
