She Smiled?

"Get up, sleepy heads! We got a lot of work to do!" Enzo's booming voice woke me up from my deep slumber. I've never felt a good night sleep just like this before but I need to get up now. So I immediately rose and look at my right side where 5 meters from me, Vera is sitting on the grass. Enzo took his shift last night so Vera and I could take some nap.

"Okay! Good. Good. We need to keep moving now! We need to find a bigger vehicle though." Enzo continues to shout to woke Aimee up.

"I have an idea where to find one. But we might have to give some effort to have it." Vera says

"We will do everything it takes just to get that vehicle sis. Or else we would die and we will be eaten by zombies. And our bodies would rot and our eyes would fall out and--"

I look at Aimee who really looks tertified now. I shook my head and smile a little with Enzo's ridiculous motivation speech.

"Can you stop talking Enzo. Can't you see? You're scaring her." Vera interupted him.

"Well, she needs to face the truth."

"If you'll gonna be like that all the time, we'll gonna leave you all alone." Vera warns her brother and gave him a blank stare

"Okay then. Leave me." Enzo says.

"You and you" she points at Calum and Aimee. "Pack our things. You, " she points at me. "You come with me. We'll prepare the vehicle."

I followed her as she walk towards our vehicle. When we reach our vehicle we cut all the grass surrounding it and filled the tank with gas that we put in a container.

"You know what, you don't have to be so hard on him. He's your brother. Don't you just get used to him?" I told her after I have found the courage to speak up in the deafening moment of silence.

"He's scaring her." Vera answered.

"It's not his intention. You know that. He just wanted to say that we are all in this together."

"He's just too much sometimes."

"Well it actually works for me. His confidence, positivity and humor is a breathe of fresh air considering that what we have felt on the past four years was all sadness, hopelessness, grief and self-pity. I'm glad to have him around."

"Enzo is a happy person, but really, you should see him cry, he's a crybaby." She said curtly.

I laughed. "Oh, I'd love to see that."

"I'm glad he's not a dramatic person though. I hate dramatic people like for instance, you."

I look at her. I can't believe that she said I'm dramatic. What's wrong with this girl? "Ouch! Is that suppose to be an insult?"

She grins. Yes, she actually grinned, its the first time that I saw her smile and its a mischievious grin! What will I do with this girl? She makes me, I don't know, she makes me feel... a feeling that I don't understand. "I don't know. Whatever you put it." She replied. "Check them out there. We should go." She said when I didn't respond.

"Okay." I said, still a little speechless. Why am I like this?

When I am approaching our sleeping place I can hear Calum, Enzo and Aimee's conversation so I stopped and decided to listen to them.

"Are you sure Enzo?" Aimee asks.

"Yes. I'm sure." Enzo answered.

"She looks like she's going to kill you any moment though." Aimee insist.

"She's just kidding, Aimee." Calum answered for Enzo.

"But--"

"Can you stop insisting that my sister is a heartless bitch? She only appears like that but would a heartless bitch let a girl like you come with us if she doesn't care at all?! Stop judging her like you know her." Enzo said. It's the first time I heard him mad. I can't blame him though, Vera and Enzo seemed very protective of each other, I wonder what they had been through together.

Calum approached Enzo and tapped his back. "Easy bro. Aimee is just concern for you."

Enzo sighed. "Yes, I'm sorry for shouting. I just don't like hearing someone say things about my sister." Enzo explains.

I stepped forward to show myself to them. They all look at me. "Arguments done?" I asked.

Enzo shooked his head and smiled a little. "Yes. I'm sorry for the outburst, Aimee."

Aimee nods.

"If that's the case, let's go. Vera's waiting." I said while smiling

"I think I know where she's going to take us." Enzo said with a big smile on his face.

My smile fades, if Enzo is excited, this will be a battlefield. I hate shooting people, err, I mean, even dead people.
