Jack's POV

I flipped the lid open of the last box. Only one more to go I thought to myself. I grabbed the cups out and placed them in the cabnets. Finally. We were all moved in to our new home. It was small, but perfect. I was excited to tell Mark.

Mark and I had been dating for almost a year and a half. I moved to L.A several months ago and I lived with Mark in his apartment. We just bought a house in a small suburb just by San Diago.

I stepped on the cardboard box, crushing it. This was the start of something new, I would never go back to my old life.

Flashback

"Sean please, this is for your own good I'm trying to help you! Why won't you let me help you?!"

"I don't need any f*cking help Mark!"

"YES YOU DO! I need you to go to rehab, please."

"NO MARK, NO MEANS NO I DON'T NEED OR WANT YOUR HELP!"

"If you don't get get help soon, I'm gone."

He walked over to the door, swung it open and left. I sat in shock. Everything came rushing to me at once. I really did need help. Oh my God what is wrong with me, what have I done to myself I thought. If I didn't get the help I needed the only person who has cared about me will leave me.

Flashback over

Nevermind that. "MARK HON WE'RE FINALLY MOVED IN!"

"WAIT REALLY??"

There was a thud and Mark comes skidding down the stairs. He has a huge grin on his face. Mark came running towards me and gives me a bear hug.

I breath in. He has his distinct scent that always calms me down. He smells like rain, clean sheets, and a warm summer breeze.

Mark pulled away and flashed his child-like grin at me. I couldn't help but smile back.

Mark's POV

I smiled at Jack. At last we could finally settle down and relax after all the stressful moving and bakc breaking unpacking. I could get him out of the house now.

"Hey Jackaboy, do you want to go for a quick walk?"

"Sure Mark."

"You go outside, I'll be right there."

"Ok."

I rushed upstairs and opened the sock drawer. I grabbed a blue velvet box and jammed it in my pocket. I flew back down the stairs and I opened the door to join Jack.

"It's a lovely evening," Jack said.

We walked hand in hand along a path in our local park. The sun was setting, causing the clouds to look like cotten candy.

"Yea, it is," I remarked.

Things got really awkward and quiet for a minute. Jack chewed the inside of his cheek. I glanced at my pocket. Now's the time Mark! Do it, as said by the wise Shia LaBeouf. I sighed.

Just as I was about to pull the box out of my pocket,

"The sky is so beautiful," Jack commented, clearly trying to make some conversation.

"Not as beautiful as you," I said.

"God, you're so corny, it's so horrible," Jack teased. His cheeks and the tip of his ears turned a shade of pink.

"Is my wee little Irishman turning a bit red?" I said in an awful Irish accent.

"No, well maybe just a little," Jack said teasingly. He grabbed my chin and kissed me. My eyes widened and I felt myself falling. Falling deeper into love.

I kissed him back, and we continued to kiss passionately until I remembered the blue velvet box. I pulled out of the kiss.

"Maaaark," Jack whined, clearly wanting to kiss more.

"Hold the f*ck on," I said. Jack sighed then crossed his arms impatiently. I slowly reached into my pocket and brought out the box. Jack's eyes had wandered and he was watching some ducks on the pond.

"Sean," I said, trying to regain his attention.

"Hmm? Ready to pick up where we left off?"

He saw the box and his eyes widened. I got down on one knee.

"M-mark... wha..," Jack could only stutter. He turned red and looked like he was about to cry. The tears welled up in his eyes.

I slowly opened the blue velvet box. Inside contained a sliver ring. I presented the box to him and said,

"Sean William Mcloughlin, will you give me the pleasure of being your husband and marry me?"

Jack's POV

"Sean William Mcloughlin, will you give me the pleasure of being your husband and marry me?"

I couldn't breath. After all the wrong I have done and all the pain I went through, this was my reward. To spend the rest of my life with the person who saved me.

Of course I wanted to, but I didn't deserve him. You'll never get this chance again, I reminded myself. I felt hot tears come flowing down my cheeks.

"Yes, you piece of shit I love you so much."

Mark stood up and wrapped me in a warm hug. I started to cry harder. The sobs racked my body.

"I don't deserve you," I whispered to him.

"My life would never be complete without you in it."

He pulled back from the hug and looked me dead in the eyes.

"Sean, I want you in my life forever," Mark said.

I tried to pull myself together, but it didn't work.

"Mark," I started.

"What is it Jack?" Mark responded.

"I-I... I always wanted to thank you."

"For what?" Mark inquiried

"For saving me from myself."
